my Oct 2004 iBook's battery died late last year, I bought a non Apple replacement on eBay for £40 plus postage, it has never charged fully and its charging capacity is gradually going down, original Apple battery lasted ages and ages before plumetting, thought I was getting a bargain, I've effectively spent an extra £40, will be getting a genuine Apple replacement when funds allow very soon, some Apple products are a bit pricey but sometimes it's worth spending the extra …More

I bought an iBook G4 12.1" in March 2005, and the battery has just died, which, I think, is a decent lifetime. Back in July, I still had about 4h battery life, which then abruptly dropped to 2h, and eventually to nothing, but I guess I had gone through all the cycles it could get. I bought a new one that works perfectly well, lasting up to 6h (using Word with brightness set to low and airport switched off) and between 4 and 5h for a more normal use (e.g. internet or watching DVDs). Of course, it is somewhat expensive, but I think it is worth the price, considering that my iBook is still up and running as on the first day I received it and I do not want to buy another computer before quite some time! …More

Yes it will, however it will be a different colour (the iBook G3 is translucent, while the iBook G4 and the battery are opaque white. It will fit snugly and work perfectly though. …More
