I have had one of these for many months. My iPhone 5 used to die around 5pm. Now when I get the message about low battery I swit I have had one of these for many months. My iPhone 5 used to die around 5pm. Now when I get the message about low battery I switch the Mophie charge on and it will go for the rest of the day until the phone is plugged in to recharge at night - at which time both the Mophie and the phone are charged.

It has made my phone much more useful - although I resent the fact that the battery life of the phone is not adequate for a day's use.

Make sure you read the instructions and there is good FAQ on the site.

There's a saying that goes "RTFM", which basically means read the manual.

Mophie do not say that you will get 100%, they say "u There's a saying that goes "RTFM", which basically means read the manual.

Mophie do not say that you will get 100%, they say "up to 100%" and that's a big difference. On their website, Mophie tell you that it's best to start your day with both phone and juice pack batteries fully charged. Run the phone down to 20% and use the juice pack to charge it to 80%, stop charging and let the phone run down again before re-starting the charge process. This is because smart phone batteries need extra power to charge them past 80%. What they don't tell you is that they also need more grunt to charge a battery from empty. In other words, they tell you the smart way to get the most out of the juice pack.

Also, I ask the people who complain that the case is not as advertised, what are you doing when your phone is charging? Making calls, emailing, texting, playing games and/or listening to music is also going to drain power as the phone is being charged. You'd never notice this when charging from mains power because it is limitless whereas a battery charge is finite. You can't get 12 out of 10.

I'm getting around 60 to 70% by following the above instructions when using my phone. If I don't use the phone at all when it's charging, I get just over 80% which is more than enough for one day.

If you want a smart case with reasonable protection and you can manage on about 160 to 170% in one day, then look no further. Boostcase make a case that will give you "up to 150%" more power for the same money but then it weighs over 20g more. Do some research before you buy, choice is yours.
