That Apple chose to put the jack on the bottom this time around is a pain in my opinion but if you do so at least get the accessories to be able to cope with this new design.

First, it will work with any iPhone with a lightning con I have used this charger for some time now and it does its job very well. First, it will work with any iPhone with a lightning connector. I dare say that most protective covers will present a problem when using a desk charger, but this little device does actually accommodate an iPhone 5/6 when fitted into Apple's own leather case. Secondly, it is well made and attractively designed. Upright chargers like this will inevitably be less stable than those docking horizontally, but mine has never toppled over, nor succumbed to the attentions of my inquisitive cat. It also takes up very little room and so can be placed pretty well anywhere. …

These cannot be relied upon to charge an iPhone for two main reasons: a) the lightening connector won't fully engage if you are us These cannot be relied upon to charge an iPhone for two main reasons: a) the lightening connector won't fully engage if you are using any kind of protective case; and b) the phone ends up wobbling on its perch (part of the problem is that the perch the phone sits on is much smaller than the phone).
Any slight movement will make the phone flop a few degrees one way or the other and prevent the phone from charging. I took the case off the phone for a bit and was happy. At least, that is, until I managed to drop my phone... …

If you have a iPad in a cover it is not possible to charge it in the dock.
