This product will protect your screen I agree, but I have received the matte version. There is nothing wrong with having a matte This product will protect your screen I agree, but I have received the matte version. There is nothing wrong with having a matte screen but...

Matte version creates a pixelated noise on any white areas on your screen ruining the clarity and detail on this high quality retina screen. It reminds me of noise and grain effects you can find in video editing software and photoshop. Unless you like this effect avoid this matte version like the plague.

There was no option to select any other version than the matte version as far as I can see. It doesn't even mention matte version on the apple site it just says anti glare. The product box with matte version on it is the only clue that there may be a gloss version out there somewhere. Now I'm going to try and find it.

  • Good protection - but would prefer gloss finish

I agree with Adrian P. This does a great job of protecting the screen, and goes on with no bubbles and takes seconds to install. T I agree with Adrian P. This does a great job of protecting the screen, and goes on with no bubbles and takes seconds to install. The only problem is that the matte screen reduces clarity on the retina display. It would have been far better for it to be clear so not to interfere with the picture.

  • It is truly different! But don't hope for true matte.

I was tempted till the last second to just buy a cheap knock off from hong kong, which retailed for 1/4 of the price, but in the e I was tempted till the last second to just buy a cheap knock off from hong kong, which retailed for 1/4 of the price, but in the end went for this as I wanted to take care of my new macbook pro retina. Well it is something else. You can't make bubbles even if you want and it really goes on seamlessly. It comes with a microfiber cloth with which you can clear the screen before applying the iVisor, but also, if something gets in between the iVisor and the screen, works taking it away, as the iVisor is not gluey or sticky, must have its on way to get stuck to the screen.

Only thing you need to know is: it does reduce the glare a bit, but if you, like me, were used to the old anti-glare screens from apple, don't hope for that because even the iVisor leaves a big of reflection. Let's say is the retina already took care of 75% of glare the iVisor helps with 15/20% more, but the pure matte is just simply not achievable anymore I'm afraid :(
