Brilliant- great with Strava
I bought this and Wahoo Fitness's Bluetooth heart rate monitor 'Blue HR'. Together they allow me to collect all the data I want wh en cycling and running. The Wahoo app is really well designed and can upload a completed session to loads of fitness apps. I have just opted for Strava and Dropbox. Dropbox can receive about 8 different file types, I have settled for GPX, CSV and Wahoo's own file format. The quality of the hardware is comparable to my backup Sunnto T3c. To finish it all off the iPhone lives in a Topeak Ride Case with stem cap mount. …

All you need
I bought this to accurately tell me my speeds, distance & cadence - all of which it does
excellently.
I've paired it with Str ava too, works a treat.
I've used this indoor's on the Turbo Trainer and outdoors on 50km + runs (in the glorious Scottish weather!) and its not missed a beat.
Easy to install - unless you have a particularly tight pedal crank - but should take no more than 10 mins
Instructions are none existent in the packaging however so visit the Wahoo site for a video tutorial.
Can't recommend this enough.
Next purchase is the Wahoo heart rate monitor to tie it all in. …- Written by Stephen P from Glasgow

Easy fit and setup with one minor issue
Bought this along with the HRM which sadly failed after 3 months, but the SC is still going strong fingers crossed. Fitting the un it to my MTB was very easy and only took 20 mins which included removing the peddle. In terms of design the main unit is great although can be easily knocked out of alinement but if you do a quick visual check before setting off then all should be good. The minor issue I fell is the magnet that you fit to the spoke of the back wheel. This doesn't tighten on very well and is prone to spinning round or sliding along the spoke. I have added some tape to prevent the sliding but it still tends to swivel round the spoke. I would have preferred a better method of fixing maybe across 2 spokes for a more accurate placement. That said I haven't had issues with the sensor not picking up the revolutions of the back wheel even with some quite extreme terrain. I will be looking to fit a different magnet soon. …

If I use the SC Sensor with Cyclemeter, is Cyclemeter's GPS functionality supposed to work in conjunctionwith the Sensor?
- Asked by Frederik H from Melville
- 07-Feb-2013
Answer
Your speed and cadence as measured by the SC will be recorded in Cyclemeter. Your GPS location will also be tracked on the map in Cyclemeter because the GPS still keeps running. This is the best possible combination. The speed measurement from the SC is much more accurate than what is computed from the GPS. All of this happens automatically as long as your SC is correctly paired. The other stats like stopped time, average speed, etc. are all determined from the SC's speed measurement by the way. As a tip, also get an external Blueooth GPS for your iPhone like the Dual GPS to save battery life. Look it up. …

Do you have to turn the phone app on and off to record the rides? It sounds like you don't but I wanted to double check.
- Asked by Sara C from San Francisco
- 01-Oct-2012
Answer
There are different fitness apps like Cyclemeter that need to be actively running to record the spee d and cadence data from the sensors while you're riding, so that you can view it on a graph or export it. But if you don't have your phone with you during the ride, the sensor itself will at least keep track of the total distance travelled and can then update Wahoo's own odometer app the next time the phone and sensor communicate again, but nothing more detailed. …
