I bought one of these to run my weekly office backups. I don't need a massive drive, we only have a small office. This is plenty b ig enough, and it's fast enough that I can a backup pretty quickly. I take it home every weekend and run the files across to our offsite backup, which then gets backed up to tape every month. Love it! …

I owned this product for 5 months now. I use it mostly with my Mac's Time Machine to backup my data. I've had no issues with it. I t's fast, quiet and very rugged. In fact, once I forgot to unplug it from my laptop and then clumsily let go of it when I was packing up.. No. You can't physically plug your iPhone in and transfer pictures. The only way is to download the pictures from your iPhone to your computer, then transfer the pictures from your computer to the hard drive. …

When used connected to USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 port, the FireWire ports are not active.
When connected to a FireWire port first, the USB port is not active.
