I decided to do some research and read reviews of several pairs in technology websites and magazines and eventually settled on the Bowers & Wilkins P3's, they were maybe a bit more pricey than I was initially looking for but having read the reviews online I decided to take the plunge and I was also won over by the style of the headphones. The headphones arrived in packaging that immediately tells you that they're an expensive product and they come in a hardshell case and the cable comes complete with a remote for adjusting the volume and pausing / moving to the next track on iOS devices, the P3's also come with a cable which can easily be changed if it is being used with non iOS devices, MP3 players etc. The headphones themselves take a while to get used to as initially i didn't find them the most comfortable but after a few days of use they became less springy and more comfortable, the sound was initially underwhelming and I was wondering if i had made the right choice but I read that they needed a bit of time and I left the headphones on playing with the volume at about halfway for a few hours while I was at work and i found once i did that the sound improved dramatically. In short they are excellent headphones and when the time comes to buy new headphones I will definitely be going back to Bowers & Wilkins again. …

I've always been sceptical of over/on the ear headphones, but these are incredible. Matches the aesthetic and functionality of iPh I've always been sceptical of over/on the ear headphones, but these are incredible. Matches the aesthetic and functionality of iPhone perfectly. The memory foam pads take an hour or two to become truly comfortable- to the point you don't feel them on your ears anymore. Sound quality is beautifully balanced- unlike the inane bass on the Beats, these are perfect. …

If you're looking for bass thumpers, go find something else. These will let you hear music as the artist intended. Clear highs, bright midrange and deep bass if that's what is supposed to be heard. Do these headphones work for someone wearing hearing aides? (Not able to get enough amplification with ipad volume alone)
- Asked by Mary W from Milbank
I'm not sure if these headphones will give higher amplification as the apple products all have a vol I'm not sure if these headphones will give higher amplification as the apple products all have a volume limit. You probably need to investigate an external desktop amplifier that you put between the ipad and your headphones. For example, check out the Fiio range of amplifers. They have a range of desktop and portable amplifiers that should do the job. Warning! Check the connections as I understand the ipad has a different connection than the ipod. The Fiio range normally connect using USB ports, although I connect a Fiio amp to my ipod using the standard ipod connector port (its a connector also sold by Fiio). With the P3's this set-up gives excellent sound quality. …

Yes. Out of the box they sound muddy and very bass loaded. Burn them in over a weekend by playing lo Yes. Out of the box they sound muddy and very bass loaded. Burn them in over a weekend by playing loud music and they transform - the treble opens up, the midrange comes through and they sound very nice indeed. They remain slightly bass-forward, but nothing like the Beats headphones. They also drive nicely from an iPhone or iPod/Pad without separate amplification. …
