    Not what you expect

    • Written by from PETTSWOOD

    Where do i start.....

Advantages- Power support make the best screen protectors. I have tried many many many protectors until I realised that Power support was the best. Bubbles are easy to get rid of. The fit of the protector is exceptional. The anti Glare does reduce the glare and greasy finger marks on your screen. It does its job!

Disadvantages- Anti glare reduces the clarity of your display. it literally downgrades the retina to a normal 3G screen.

Recommendation- Stick with Power support as I genuinely think they make the best screen protectors but don't go for the anti glare. They do make an HD crystal protector which albeit is not anti glare but keeps the integrity of the retina display. If you can live with finger prints then buy the HD crystal protector that unfortunately is not sold in Apple shops. It comes with 2 x front protectors AND a back protector too!!! so no more cases that ruin the look of your phone!

    Not what I hoped for

    • Written by from London

While I have no gripes about the quality of the materials used in this film, I think it ruins the Retina Display. I had hoped for better, given the other positive reviews, but it makes the display look grainy and the colours considerably more muted than without. It makes the screen look my 3G's screen (although if I stare at it, the resolution is still there, of course). But there's no way I'm going to sacrifice all that lovely detail and crispness and sharpness for something muted and grainy, even if it does reduce finger prints. Yes, it feels nice, but it's a big step backwards in appearance. I wish Apple would stock the Crystal version of this film, as I'm now convinced -- having tried several films on the 3G and 4 -- that a film must be glossy to maintain the quality of the display. I know the matte finish is better at reducing finger prints and oil and feels very nice, but it's a big sacrifice. Bottom line: it makes the Retina Display look almost like the 3G/3GS screen. More

    The Benchmark of Screen Protection

    • Written by from Brierley Hill

Had the Power Support protective film for my iPhone 3 and it was excellent, I was hoping the iPhone 4 version wouldn't disappoint.

    . . . All I can say is it didn't!

Tried a number of alternatives before this was released and they just don't compare. £12.95 may seem expensive but you do get 2 films and the quality is excellent.

The best screen protector on the market

    • Written by from Edinburgh

I have used this product time and again, from My iphone 2 to the current iPhone 5. It is, in my opinion, the best screen protector on the market; and when you follow the instructions on how to apply it, the protector will never come off or peel at the edges. For perfect results I always clean the screen and rub it down with a micro fibre cloth to ensure it is spotless, then I apply the dust remover which also removes finger marks and light smudges etc...and then I apply the protector, which will stick perfectly first time leaving no air bubbles. Occasionaly you may get the odd air bubble around the edges of the hole for the camera lens etc.. these are easily removed by using a credit card.

You get 2 protectors in the pack, but I only ever needed one for the time I had the phones which were all for 18 Months (you could give the spare to a friend). The protector is very robust and takes an age to scratch, I can't recommend it enough. My only gripe is that Power support are a bit slow in getting the latest protectors on the market when the new model of iPhone is released, but I guess this is due to the nature of Apple keeping things very tight.

To date I have purchasedI 5 sets of these for iPhone models 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S & 5 and all protectors were 100% reliable

    Very disappointed !

    • Written by from BELFAST

Got this product when buying iPhone 4s only to find it being very disappointing. After having been put on 100% perfectly with precise handling etc.. it looked very good with nice matt finish, although screen clarity somewhat diminished. After just a few days what looked to me as dust marks underneath it appeared. It was like dust had been able to find its way underneath it from the sides and got on to the middle of the screen because the dust was definitely not there when I put it on. More

    very disappointed

    • Written by from Cromer

After reading some mixed reviews and the manufactures information I decided to buy.

The film is certainly good at being anti-glare. And I like the matt look and feel.
BUT it certainly isn't HD. Unless they mean Half Definition!

It's now impossible to read small text on the superb retina display.

I removed the film within 5 minutes. What a waste of money.

  • Does the anti glare film work on the older iphone?

    Best Answer

Probably, but you wouldn't need the crystal back film for the iPhone 3G/S or earlier. Secondly, the film, front and back is made specifically for the iPhone4 which means that it has the camera holes and flash hole in all the right places which you don't need for the earlier iPhone versions. Best to buy the approrpriate version of antiglare film for the iPhone or iTouch. More
