Sennheiser makes excellent audio products, and i didn't expect less. Build quality and comfort was great, as was the design. Portability was obviously a priority in the minds of the Sennheiser chaps! As for the sound, they sounded fab, especially as they were small, sealed cans. Most 'phones ot this type sound congested and muffled, but this just doesn't. Sure, they lack the openness and neutral sound of an open headphone, but Sennheiser has easily overcome the limitations of sound quality most face when designing a headphone like this. The bass is neither overpowering or weak; it's tight and taut, natural bass. After burning it in, I did notice that this is a (only very slightly) midcentric headphone, but they aren't fatiguing. Just natural, clear, and well weighted mids. As for the highs, they seemed slightly rolled off (as were the bass), but were, like the rest of the sound spectrum, smooth and clear. Soundstaging was great for a pair of small, sealed, headphones, but might not impress those used to an open sound sig. Clarity could be a BIT better, but nonetheless it didn't make me think any less of what is a truly great headphone. Overall, this headphone is brilliant. Others may sound better, or be more durable, or have better comfort, but none that I've tried combines so much together. As an all rounder, I give it my highest recommendation.

The sound quality is quite good (I'm not one of these people who is looking to find those hidden sounds and I don't know anything about running headphones in) and they do block out quite a bit of outside noise but they are not comfortable to wear. They are not designed for prolonged use. They feel tight (I'm sure you're not meant to feel the throbbing of your pulse) and uncomfortable on the ears. I persevere with them because they were a gift and it would be rude not to.
