    Printer is amazingly easy to setup with your wifi. No need to connect it to computer via cable like with some other devices and works absolutely amazing with air print when using your iPhone or iPad. My iMac and Macbook Air recognised printer straight away. Didn't need to install any software at all, just clicked "Print" and printer was already available on a list.

    Touch Screen interface is nice, easy in use and really responsive. User Interface was designed in a right way.

    Perfect product for your home.

    Unreliable

    I have this as a brand new unit and also an HP Envy air printer which my wife bought . Neither are much good. When I set them up they worked fine for a few hours. But after that I have to go and switch off my BT router and then reboot to get them to connect wirelessly. This is in a household with two laptops, two iPads, two iPhones and an Internet TV which all connect via the same router without problems. I have an old HP 2600 series printer which is cable connected and so I use this as it NEVER lets me down. HP air printers are rubbish. Wouldn't buy another!

    Doesn´t print black

    This is a known issue by HP on their support forum just look for it on the internet.
    No recall for this rubbish printer and only advise from HP is to clean print heads to try and make it work , and when you empty your cartridges from doing it over and over to try to get it to print black, just go and buy some more expensive HP spare cartridges !!!
    Just not worth it, lucky me got it for free with my new iMac.

    Buy other model / make but not the 5520 !!!

    Breaks IPv4 network

    This printer is good, cheap and worked quite well once I figured out how to stop it bringing down my internet connection ever few minutes.

    It appears that the printer sends a malformed DNS request packet, which causes my router to crash and reboot. This was just after I switched supplier and I ended up spending weeks chasing the 'connection issues' with them only to find out it was this printer.

    Eventually I found I could work around it by running the printer in IPV6 mode only. Things seemed to be working ok, but then a few months ago started to get intermittent connection issues. Printer stopped halfway, iOS devices could not AirPrint to it. Eventually my OSX devices also bang having trouble maintaining a connection.

    Finally it has given up. Nothing can connect to it wirelessly (unless I turn on IPv4, which is entirely useless as it breaks the internet for me). This is a known problem, HP has a ticket on it website about the issue, but to date has not released a fix/update.

    Very disappointing.

    Broke after a year or so....

    After only a year or so the print head stopped printing black, no way to get it repaired so off to the tip with it. Would not be so bad if I had not spent £25 on a new set on cartridges that in fact we're not needed.

    Printer only ever had light usage, I would expect it to last a few years...

    Had to manually connect it to all household computers by entering it's IP address which was annoying, and none of the iPhones, iPads etc will find the printer. Not sure whether it's due to lack of instructions coming in the box, or just a rubbish printer.

    Avoid if you have a sky hub router (white)

    I think this may be a great printer, if it happens to work with your router. I bought one from the apple store and tried EVERY way possible to connect the printer to my home network. Here is what I did:

    1) used the cd installation guide
    2) used the printer installation wizard
    3) used the HP website printer setup
    4) used WPS on the printer and router
    5) added the MAC address of the printer to the list of accepted MAC address on my router using the router configuration website
    6) added the printer pin using the router configuration website
    7) changed channels and the security settings on the router using the router configuration website
    8) restored the router to factory settings and did everything again
    9) restored the printer to factory settings (3 different times) and did everything again
    10) called HP technical support (4 hours of going through everything again, including giving the technician access to my computer and router settings)
    11) called Sky Technical support (1 hour of going through everything again), to rest router and confirm unequivocally that MAC address filtering was not enabled or anything else was preventing my printer from joining with the router.

    The conclusion that the HP tech guy, the Sky tech guy and I came to was that this printer is simply not compatible with the Sky Hub Router (white), so please don't waste your time and money like I did, if you have a Sky Hub router (white) - which is a pretty common router in the UK!

    That being said, I'm sure the printer can work brilliantly with other routers!

    A printer for non techies

    Bought from Apple store after reading reviews that they work with Ipad and iPhone and indeed it does ! Ipad 1 and 5 have both successfully printed as has my iPhone 4. Easily set up and no need to use set up cd or link to network if only using with tablets and phone. No problems so far is working well, despite being powered off , and moved about in the room. Still to discover all it's capabilities but so far it's really good.

    Faulty/power module ect.

    Got this on Sunday from Apple store Brighton
    set up ok, but only turns on once then after turning off will not turn on again unless you unplug from the wall and replug in,
    Followed everything on the HP Website 4 times, unplugging waiting, different socket,
    very annoyed, as i have to get this back to store, i don't drive so taxi each way, adds to the cost of the product.
    do i try another one or refund?.

    Printer ink cartridges

    I bought my air printer about six months ago and have had absolutely no problems with it except that the ink cartridges are constantly running out. they are cheaper than most but you need four different colours so the costs add up. Beware also Tesco,s own cartridges they don't work

    Not the fastest printer but apart from that excellent , very reliable , very good on ink use and very good quality . It's also very easy to use and AirPrint works very well with the iPad / iPhone.

    Worked for a short while then stopped

    I bought this printer with my MacBook Air just after Christmas. At first it worked fine, but then started be temperamental, and has now stopped working altogether via Wifi.
    I continually get the message "Unable to find printer" although the printer is connected, and the laptop is connected.
    I use Apple because I am old and a ludite - I need something that is simple to use, but the correction directions you find when googling this issue (and many other people are suffering it - just check it out) are incomprehensible.
    Sadly, I have to say that it has proved to be a rubbish product.

    Great printer. Small and easy to setup

    So far this has been one of the best printers I have owned. Its easy to setup with setup instructions shown on the small display and AirPrint is very handy. I would recommend it for occasional printing and it will even duplex for two-sided printing.

    this printer was everything i expected and a little more very easy to set up just turn the printer on install software and that's it very easy printing quality is good could be better or maybe its expectations are too high the wifi works beautifully without any troubles iam very impressed with HP done a good job.

    I wanted an AirPrint printer to connect with my iPad.
    The AirPrint does exactly as it should but i downloaded the hp e-print app from the app store and it is even better. you can make minor changes such as paper size etc. handy if you want an A4 sized picture from photo stream. The quality is fantastic. I did have a couple of niggles when I set up (probably down to me) but nothing my husband couldn't sort out.
    I would definitely recommend to a budget conscious buyer. But as I said before, don't let the low price fool you this is a great printer.

    iPhone & iPad print success

    Very pleased with this printer bought specifically to print from my iPhone 4 & iPad. IOS 5 necessary. I am 71 years old & had no trouble linking this printer to both of them. Clear instructions but really does it all itself. For once, it does what it says on the box! The quality of the printing is very good.

    Worth the money

    on a budget to find a printer that supports airprint, you will not go far wrong with this. its very easy to set up using the CD, then enable the web services after. the print quality is very good and its very easy to use.

    i found some issues trying to get airprint to work and the solution was to enable bonjour on your Mac. To do this, go to system prefs, sharing, tick 'sharing' and make sure your printer is listed with a tick in the box in the main window. this will mean all other iOS devices will be able to recognise the printer on your network.

    The printer also has a great function of being able to support direct print without the need for set up. it becomes a wifi end point. note: you cannot connect to the internet when printing this way, but does provide a handy alternative for guest printing etc.

    overall i highly recommend this printer.

    Dont buy!

    Pretty rubbish to be honest, if it worked it would be so cool! Double sided printing, scanning the lot. BUT, nothing works, it just jams every single piece of paper, even the alignment sheet, havn't had one sheet out of it. Dont buy.
