Answer
No. I just tried it and it does not do display mirroring. It pretty much only allows you to watch videos on an external monitor.

I have usb connection on my TV, do i still need this?
- Asked by Stacy B from Roselle Park
- 15-Dec-2011

Best Answer
In this case, the USB is merely a power connection. I don't think you'd be able to charge an iPhone or iPad from the TV's USB port, and the TV definitely wouldn't receive any audio or video signal from your device.

Answer
The composite head phone jack lead can be used with an iPhone but you will only get Audio through it. If you want audio and video you will need the composite lead that attaches to the bottom of the phone (like the charger)

I purchased this exact same set from apple a few weeks ago. It worked great with 5.1 at the begining and now it does not even charge or connect to my PC anymore... I'm reading over forums to find an answer to my problem. Poke me if you find anything please!

Can I watch Netflix movies using my iPad along with the netflix app and the composite AV cable?
- Asked by Jimmy R from Medford

Answer
That's exactly what I do now, by connecting my iPad via the composite cable to my home-theater receiver's auxiliary input.
The composite cable package also includes a USB cable, which can plug into a spare charging block and allow you to watch Netflix without draining your iPad battery.
You scroll through Netflix options on your iPad app, and you control the film (play/pause/stop) from the iPad app as well. But when the film starts playing, it automatically is displayed on your TV.
I must adjust the aspect ratio of my Sony TV from "Normal" to "Full" to get the movies to fill the screen properly, but that's the only fiddling required. The streaming audio/video quality is good, though not quite HDTV good.- Answered by Gregory J from New Albany

Yes it works with all devices since 2007 but I recommend the 30-pin dock connector to HDMI cable because it also works with the same devices but with better picture and sound quality.

When using this cable to connect a iPad2 to a stereo, do you control the music volume with the ipad or the stereo or a combination of both?
- Asked by John W from Bethany

Answer
It depends if it is a stereo made specifically for iPods and apple stuff, like the ihome. If you're using an auxiliary cable you usually use volume control on both the stereo and the iPad/iPod. Most people I know say that if you have it plugged into your car stereo, it sounds better if you have the iPad/iPod volume up just halfway or thee fourths of the way, and then control the rest with the stereo. I dont know why the volume of your iPod or iPad would effect the sound quality over the stereo, but apparently it does(:
