Serious noise / interference problems - as widely reported
I purchased one of these (expensive) adaptors for use with a new MacBook. Unfortunately there is serious interference on black par ts of the screen. Many other users have encountered this, so I don't believe my experience is uncommon. …

doesn't work properly with Macbook Pro (late 2008) and Dell 30" monitors
beware, doesn't work with a Macbook Pro (late 2008) and any Dell 30" (3007wfp /3007wfp-hc), every so often the infamous 'fuzz of d eath' appears and your screen will be unreadable, leaving only a re-boot or unpluging/repluging the adpater to bring the screen back, but only for awhile.
check out the forums for details, especially the thread intitled - 'periodic Dual-link display problem with new adapter'.

Serious issue with non Apple displays
Beware of buying this accessory, if you have a non-Apple 30" display then it will almost certainly cause problems. It is regrettab le that Apple should put its loyal customers in this position. A 30" monitor is a significant investment, and it may not be viable for people to replace their perfectly good displays with the Apple display so that they can receive reliable performance. My hope is that this is merely a software issue that can hopefully be corrected via a software update. …

The adapter works - check the cable
Bough the adapter and tested two cables that LOOKED like dual-link DVI - didn't work for DELL3007WFPHC. Thought I would return it .
When putting the cables back, noted another one labelled Dual-Link DVI. Tested, works perfect. …- Written by Lucian I from London

it works fine
The device works well. It needs to use one USB port, not just the mini-display port. Having read some earlier reviews, I was not f ully sure it would be working without disruptions, but everything is fine so far, although the price is quite extreme. …

Doesn't work with Mac Mini and Hazro HZ27WB
I bought this to link a brand new Mac Mini to a Hazro HZ27WB display. Unfortunately, it didn't work.
The failure mode was bizar re: the display would work perfectly for three or four seconds then blank for three or four seconds before coming back. Over and over again.
I tried a second one, but that had exactly the same problem. Apple support said it would take them four working days to come up with any kind of suggestion as to how to proceed.
I couldn't wait. I'm returning the adapter. And the Mac Mini. Try harder, Apple. …- Written by Clive J

How can I use the Mac Mini with two monitors?

I do not own a mac mini but I have seen this done many times in retail stores that want to show off the versatility of such a small desktop. The mac mini has two video outputs: a mini-display port and a mini-DVI port. The mini-display port is the same one you find on the current generation macbook, macbook pros (as well as the Mac Pro) and the Mini-DVI is the same as the on the old black/white macbook. I do not know why apple decided to go with two different adapter types but it works just the same as you will need two separate adapters to use two displays anyway. From there, you just buy two "dongles" (display adapters) which hook up to your respective screen input jacks (VGA or DVI) and you're set! …

can i connect macbook pro to two monitors

Best Answer
Yes.
The method will depend on your desired configuration.
Do you want to show the same thing on both external monitors (either cloned desktop or extended desktop)? Then you need a signal multiplier/Distribution Amplifier (DVI DA or VGA DA). If you want to show 2 different things on the externals (like the standard desktop plus extended desktop) then you need a product like the matrox dual-head or triple-head. …- Answered by Bruce W from San Francisco

Can I connect my macbook pro Retina to two x "Mini DisplayPort to Dual-link DVI Adapter" driving 2 x Dell 2560x1600 monitors?
- Asked by Mehran S from Miami
- 04-Feb-2013
Answer
I am happy to report that I was able to connect 2 adapters to attach to Dell Cinema monitors (2650 x 1600 each) to my Macbook Pro.
Note that each adapter needs a USB port which meant the second adapter had to use a USB port on the right hand side of my MBP. Fortunately, the y-shape part of the adapter is long enough to reach the USB on the right side.
Also, I can use the built-in monitor for a total of 3 screens. I am using the set-up for mostly browsing and highly text based app so I cannot vouch how the set-up might operate with low latency apps such as games running high-res and fast changing graphics. …- Answered by Mehran S from Miami
