can i use the Mic for the Voice Memos app? i have a ipod touch 2nd gen

I am trying to use the vocie memos app but i dont have a external mic.
will Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic work for this app?

    I have an ipod touch 3g with this earbud and YES the mic works with the voice memo app.
