    Excellent

Can't really fault these units, I have two of them and am just about to buy a third.
Only (VERY) minor problem is that the supplied back-up software doesn't seem to work with Snow Leopard.
Very quiet, never gets too hot.
Basically it just works exactly how it is meant to.

    Great Large capacity and Quiet

Plus side, this is a lot of capacity, which works well for my main video server.
It runs quiet and compared to some of the other 1TB stuff we have not overly hot, so it cools itself quietly.

On the downside I was hoping to use the raid structure on the back of AEBS but couldn't get it to recognise the partition via the USB over the network so left it as 1 large volume at 4TB.
Overall impressed so far, had it 3 months.

Yes, this drive is extremely quiet. I have two of these drives connected to one of my Mac Mini's. A nominal amount of noise can be heard when the drive first spins up for use. During heavy to normal activity this drive is all but silent. More

Yes, no problem. I've been using it as the location for all the Final Cut render files for four months without any problem. My machine is an iMac. Just make sure it's hooked up with FireWire 800 in order to get maximum transfer speed.
I was just about to order another when I saw your question.
    Good luck!
