The coil is so tight that if you want to use your device while charging you cannot be more than 30-40cm from the power source or you pull either the USB or Lightening connection out with the force of the coil.
Spend an extra fiver and get the 3m straight cable by Griffin

Unfortunately, it's wound so tight that it doesn't extend more than about 40cm before creating enough tension to pull either the cable out or your phone off a table/mac tower! Plus the mini USB has become intermittent when connected.

No faults so far. The cable is thicker in material too. So it wears less.

It looked fine but plugged in, it wouldn't do anything (device would think it wasn't plugged in to anything). Retailer sent a replacement (fortunately without me having to return original) and I was careful with it thinking it could be prone to breaking. But after using it with it stretched just over 60 cm it broke (again, no exterior damage). I have contacted Griffin in USA and I will update review if they respond with anything of substance. I think this is a poorly manufactured product, or it's advertised length should be no more than 55 cm. It didn't feel like I was over-stretching the coil, yes it is tight, but it should be able to sustain such a length.
