Fantastic toy, even better now at version 2
This helicopter is extremely easy to fly, huge fun and the onboard video cameras (two) and telemetry are a nice touch. To fly pro This helicopter is extremely easy to fly, huge fun and the onboard video cameras (two) and telemetry are a nice touch. To fly properly you may benefit from buying a 3rd party app (there are plenty available with reviews) and there are other hardware upgrades for longer flight times and better performance if you so wish. A great product only slightly let down by the inherent range (think also altitude) limitations of WiFi. …

Very simply- fantastic! Just a brilliant piece of equipment!

Anyone who says this isn't a great bit of kit is either too old, too daft or too impatient to fly it, after all, it is a very sophisticated thing, so you have to have some basic knowledge or even just an idea of how to fly or drive something to use it (just get on Tom Clancys HAWX or Forza on your XBOX or PS3 if your having troubles using it, that should help you out).
The only thing I would say though is if you don't have one, BUY ONE! …

Great fun and very durable

Even in the realm of I've now owned this drone for a short period of time and it is one of the best app enabled devices out there. Even in the realm of RC quadcopters, this is one of the most sophisticated products and of very high quality. The relatively short flight time per charge is my only issue with it. I have not found range to be a problem, but perhaps I haven't pushed things far enough. Video streaming directly to your iOS device will hog some of the WiFi bandwidth and therefore may impose limitations on range or video quality and smoothness. I would therefore suggest the use of a USB stick for the purpose of recording video. You will not be disappointed by this drone. Thoroughly recommended!!! …

It's fun to This is a clever, intuitive piece of kit and with a bit of practise the controls are easy to learn on iPhone or iPad. It's fun to play with and it is a great thrill to capture video footage from your drone as it climbs into the air. However parts of the drone break very easily. Parts are ready to order from Amazon and if you follow the youtube tutorials, remarkably easy to fit. But this is an expensive thing to do and repeat doing. And if you do want to use the thing, fly high, perform stunts, swoop and swing, you will have to spend a lot of money on spare parts and a decent battery. In two months of ownership I have spent nearly £200 on replacement gear for this toy, and sadly tonight when another motor got damaged on a hard landing I have decided to stop throwing good money at it. …

I watched several videos on U-tube about unpacking and flying the Parrot drone as well as reading the manual and watching the 3 pa I watched several videos on U-tube about unpacking and flying the Parrot drone as well as reading the manual and watching the 3 parrot videos for beginners. According to all the videos etc once I first launched it, it would rise to 1 metre and hover there.
No such luck. When I launched it with the indoor hull, it rose up and up to the ceiling where bits started to fall off!. Pressing land had no effect. I had to do the emergency stop so it crashed to the floor. I then noticed there was a thin layer of plastic over the bottom covering the sensors. Removed this but it still rose uncontrollably. Finally disconnected battery and then switched off our home wireless router. Started again all worked ok now hovered at 1 metre!! Interested to know if anyone else has had similar problems. Will hopefully give more stars after I have used it. But battery was dead after 5 of these take offs! Also my indoor hull has now got bits gouged out of it and my wife says I have marked the living room ceiling. …

can the ar 2.0 carry a payload of 6 oz.?
- Asked by Dalton M from Tyler
I have read the payload is approximately 250g (about 8 ounces) and that seems about right.
I have I have read the payload is approximately 250g (about 8 ounces) and that seems about right.
I have pressed down on the hull of my hovering Drone and the resistance was probably very close that that measurement. However, payloads increase power needs, which increase motor and battery heat and shorten flight-time, and probably shorten the life of motors and battery. They also decrease the stability and flight characteristics.
Examples of payload additions and modifications, including additions of Go-Pro cameras, are abundant on the Internet. …

The Wi-Fi connection is between the Drone and your iPhone (or iPad, etc.). Instead of controlling the device with a conventional radio frequency or an IR (infrared) controller (like the one found in many Air Hogs indoor choppers), the control is a direct Wi-Fi connection to the drone. No router is needed, they connect straight to each other. Just before you fly, you connect to the Drone's "network" in your device's settings. …
