    Nice speaker - not without issues though

    Great look, great sound. Sadly, if your Wi'Fi signal strength isn't great you do get quite frequent drop outs. Using an iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and AirPlay from the iMac it still has trouble connecting and drops the signal quite frequently. I'd recommend making sure you have a good signal strength where you want to use it before purchase. …More

    It's design is a rare oiece of beuty. That's about the onlye positive thing there is to say. The manual is counter-intuative, it calls the ipad ipod and ipod iphone and so on. Unless you place your router, the speaker and your unit of choice close togehter you wont get any sound at all. …More

    Looks great, sounds good, drops connection daily

    We got this back when the choices of AirPlay speakers were pretty thin on the ground. It's a truly lovely thing to behold - always inviting positive comments from visitors - and the fact it's got a rechargeable battery means you can wander the house with it, listening from room to room.

    For a speaker this size I'd say the sound quality is as expected. Occasionally I do wish it would go a little bit louder, especially as we have it in the kitchen, where it competes with various other sounds. But all in all it's fine - a clean sound with adequate bass.

    Unfortunately it does have one fairly major drawback and that's its connectivity. It's not so much that it drops the connection during playback, as it disconnects itself from the wireless network in between uses. I'd say 3 times out of 5 when I come to it, or choose a speaker from the Airplay list on my iDevice… it's gone. This means a 1.5 minute pause in proceedings until it's finished going through its reconnect process.

    Not only this, but even when it *is* connected, sometimes its not possible to get the iDevice to play anything through it… necessitating another reset-button push and couple of minutes wait.

    These issues are clearly affected by its positioning in the house: the microwave is in line of sight, and using the two together is always touch and go. (Wifi reception in the kitchen is fine.) I'm considering getting an alternative for the kitchen and moving this upstairs. Don't get me wrong - we love this speaker! It's just maybe not the best choice for a kitchen.     …More

    Excellent quality sound for this price

    Great quality product for such a cheap price. I see others have complained about the sound dropping out but haven't experienced this at all (we have a small apartment and the signal doesn't drop out anywhere).

    The Apple price isn't very competitive but the fact it's certified by Apple lets you buy with confidence. Haven't had to use it on battery power for a long period so can't comment on battery life but it's very good at everything else.     …More
