This thing is working properly
With this crazy price for an adapter, a proper Dual Link DVI cable shell be included. Quality of the Dual-Link DVI cable shell be mentioned in the item description.
My friend is using Kanex's with U3011, it's also working fine for years, but buying it, need to ship from oversea on amazon. And seems the QC is not good on the connector as far as I can see on my friend’s one and with the posts reported on the forums.
On my U2711, at the beginning, I have all the problems like everybody else mentioned in the old comments. There was snow from wake, distorted/flicker/flash line screen and no signal.
Then I found my old Dual-Link DVI cable would get the same problems with Kanex's. Then I checked the DVI cable with a multi-meter, all the pins are connecting each other and proved it is Dual Link DVI. Anyway I then swap the DVI cable with Dell's original. Then everything is working fine and lovely.
I just want to mention a simple idea here, before any of you reading the outdated/irresponsible comments.
