So I bought this since I have an Ipad 3 and an Ipad 4, the problem is when I plug it into my ipad 4 via a 30 pin to lighnening connector it says it is not a supported device. I thought that was the whole point of the 30 pin to lighning connector, to make 30 pin products work on the new lightneng connector

I am seriously about to trash all of my apple products! I bought this adapter before AirPlay came out. The current version of Flixster is still not working correctly with AirPlay even with the update that came out today (4/22/13). So I resorted to my old 30 pin to hdmi which use to work fine with my iPad 2. Now with the iOS 6 software it doesn't??? What kind of show are you running apple? That's absolute garbage. I can understand the the Flixster side which is probably one or 2 more software updates away from getting it right, but a genuine apple product that doesn't work anymore because of an apple software update. WOW! This is 2013....get it right!

iPad with retina display connected to lightning to 30 pin adaptor connected to 30 pin digital connector and I get a message "This accessory is not supported by iPad". I suppose I need to go out and purchase yet another over priced adaptor (lightning digital). The guys on the classic Apple branding ads should change places in my opinion. The clumsy nerdy guy is now...Apple.

30 pin digital AV adapter = disappointed

How do you own such a lucrative, reputable company and put your brand name on a product that doesn't work universally with all your products that fit the generalized criteria. I purchased this adapter over the rocket fish brand at best buy to figure out after this adapter only works with few and far between randomized iPod/ iPads. The Best Buy sales clerk was certain that this would work with my IPad, but no dice. iPad 4 was left out for whatever reason. Yes, I finally read the scattered applicable devices on the side panel, but everyone knows Apple users have been taught not to read terms and conditions when buying seemingly obvious purchases.

This is the biggest waste of money. As mentioned does not work on IOS6 you get a message saying "the device is not supported" was working fine on earlier versions. Absolute joke that you pay out €30 for an adapter for them to update the IOS and for it not too work afterwards. Could be forgiven if this was not an apple product but it is & doesn't explain why its still on sale.

    Does not work for movies

Bought this to watch movies "on your large, HD screen" as described by Apple. But you can't play any movies off your iPad to a larger screen unless it is Apple TV, even if you bought it on iTunes! Says "does not support protected movies". Interesting, since I just bought the 3 movies for $50 on iTunes and they play on my iPad. How much more can it be protected? I am starting to hate Apple's closed loop.

Does not work with my iPhone 4 (6.1) connected to my early-2011 Sony Bravia tv. Videos from the "Videos" app work just fine and look great on the tv, but absolutely nothing else (YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, NHL Gamecenter Live, photos) shows up on the tv. I get a black screen, sometimes with the audio, but never with a picture. What are some people doing differently that causes this to work for them? I feel jipped out of 40 bucks considering it apparently doesn't do what the description says (unless you only use Apple's "Videos" app.)

As a teacher I depend on my iPod Touch, iPad, and now my iPhone to carry my videos to classes, meetings, and workshops. The upgrade apparently resulted in the loss of the ability to show through TVs or projectors (my principle use). I am angry and rushing to find my DVD players and all of my DVD source material to return to an earlier age. THANKS FOR THE SCREW-UP APPLE

I have tried this adapter on the following:

iPhone 4S, 3GS and iPad 2 all tried on a Samsung 55" LED (puchased 2012) a 32" Kogan LED TV and 24" Hisense monitor. None of them work in any of the TV's/monitors. I get a black screen and the only the iPad makes the "sync/cable connected" sound when I plug in the cable.

All are running latest available iOS for each device. Very weird... why is Apple so silent on this?

I've got an iPad 3 and my wife and I both have iPhone 4's.
The iPad running iOS 5 works.
The iPhones running 6 only export the audio not the video.
This adapter really only has a couple of jobs. It's supposed to export the audio and the video from a handful of devices to the TV. I can't believe apple continues to sell this product in their stores when THEY KNOW how many people are having issues with it.
