    works great in 10.5.8 leopard

I downloaded software and connected without problems. Momentum scrolling is possible by using terminal application. just search for it. Works really good on my old powerbook g4, I like the momentum scrolling. Would have given it a 5 but software doesnt include the option for momentum scrolling.

Upon ordering a Mac, you get the option of Magic Mouse or TrackPad. I got the magic mouse despite having several mac compatible mouse that i was using with my windows previously.
When i first got the mouse. I tried to operate the mouse by lying my hand flat on the mouse (How stupid i looked) I have big hands and my hands practically covered it.
The mouse is very low like a High Priced Sports Car. Yet i still love it. And i now operate the mouse with my palm in the air. The mouse gets 5* But looses one as the acceleration is slow which can be a problem when playing online games etc. But once the speed of the pointer is high it helps. The touch interface of the mouse and just how brilliant it is amazes me everytime i use it.
Just like Apple, Another product unlike anything on the market!

    Connection problems

    • Written by from Новосибирск

It loses connection constantly. Several times a day I have to realization that mouse isn't connected to my MacBook Pro. It isn't really a problem to connect it, but it's really annoying. Because each time you have to find Bluetooth mark on the top on the screen, and then in two clicks connect the mouse with MacBook.

    Love/Hate

    • Written by from Memphis

I love the feel of this item and love how it works, but i hate that it requires batterie. My children use the computer a lot and it means I have a stash of batteries just for the mouse and keyboard to alleviate tantrums. Aside from the battery issue I actually love using this item and would recommend it to friends.

    MagicPrefs

    • Written by from SHEFFIELD

It took me around a week to get used to this mouse as I previously used a much bigger Windows mouse, I also found the acceleration hard to handle, something that cannot be changed easily (only the speed can be adjusted in settings). However, once i got used to this I started to appreciate the mouse much more.

The build quality is simply excellent.

I'll dock a star because I needed to download the MagicPerfs app to get a middle click, something I find hard to live without. I feel that Apple should include this option as standard.

I probably prefer the Trackpad on my Macbook Pro but I find that after a while it plays havoc on my wrist, this to me is the next best thing, without the bad wrist.

    Apple Magic

This mouse is great. Of course in typical fashion this device works great with the mac through bluetooth. My only complaint would be that the mouse is sometimes hard to grip. Worth the price!!

    Love it

    • Written by from ottawa

So basically this mouse is the best mouse i've ever had. I gave it 4/5 stars cause it's kinda hard to get that excited about a mouse. That being said I've had mine for well over a year now and it's still at 100% battery life. THAT is amazing. It's also a little pricy but i got it as a gift so it was great.

After a year it decided to stop work

    • Written by from New Orleans

I bought this mouse and it worked perfectly for me then a little over a year after (370 days later) it stopped working. I could only click but it would not move on my screen. I called apple and they couldn't fix the problem. I'd be cautious with this mouse. Works well but im bummed that it stopped working so suddenly, not even the logitech that i have for over 5 years failed me...

I've used mine for years and love it!

    • Written by from Maple Grove

I was just browsing some of the other reviews. I am surprised at some of the low rated reviews. I have had mine for years and never have Bluetooth connection problems. I will say that the battery drain is frustrating, but I finally switched to rechargeable, which I should have done a long time ago. They are lasting longer, and are not so wasteful. The mouse can be a little touchy and I it takes some getting used to. The curser can jump away on you if you bump it wrong, but such a minor thing. It is sleek and comfortable, and best of all - no annoying cord! I love the multi touch gestures and any time I have to use a standard mouse, I find myself frustrated that the whole world hasn't discovered this mouse yet!

Take the time to learn to use this...

...it is truly a piece of art. I have had some interfacing problems, though, I still rate this highly.

    good but some flaws

    • Written by from STEINHEIM

I love my magic mouse and use it every day, I actually probably have one of the first once so not to sure if they changed the design a bit. One issue I have is with the on and off button as if you are on rough surface or if there is something in the way the muse can be turned off while moving it, especially as the black rubbers ar worn out a bit also it will dirty your table a lot with the black residue from the black rubbers underneath it

    Awesome mouse

    • Written by from Mesa

I like this mouse a lot, have had it for about a month and still running the original batteries, bluetooth connection is great with my MacBook Pro. I use it in my bed on my sheets or on the couch and it works great.

The only down side is that it scratches very easily and mine has become quite scuffed already in the month I've had it.

Great if you have small "danty" hands

    • Written by from Oklahoma City

Totally love all the features of this new mouse! Unfortunately, it's ergonomics are more suited for small hands. It would be nice if it were, at least, a half inch wider and longer. If not that a bit higher in the curvature as to better fit a larger hand.

Maybe a larger version can be developed for us "Gigantor" types.

great mouse but I would like a cord

    • Written by from Union Dale

This mouse has a wonderful feel and features. It does lose the bluetooth connection at least once a day though.

I REALLY wish Apple would make a version with a cord! I have no need for the wireless aspect and I hate buying batteries constantly.

    Thumb saver

    • Written by from Sequim

I've read all the reviews + and -. Agree with most. However, best thing about this mouse--within days, my thumb pain that had occurred with every other mouse I had tried, went away completely. Was about to have surgery--this after trying every splint, PT, injection out there. Just changed to this flatter mouse--and instant cure. Has stayed away for a year now. If you have thumb pain, esp. in the MCP joint, try this mouse.

Smooth transition from Mighty to Magic Mouse

    • Written by from Richmond

I used the Mighty Mouse and loved it, but like most people I experienced problems with the scroll ball. The Magic Mouse has no scroll ball, it uses some sort of "touch screen" technology. It's great, I absolutely love it. I'm a video editor & web surfer.

The only downside is it's missing 2 buttons the Mighty Mouse has. Other than that if you're switching from the Mighty to the Magic Mouse you'll probably be very pleased as I am..

    Quality

    • Written by from Norwich

I find this to be a very comfortable mouse to use with great functionality. I have used it at work for more than a year with a mac pro and it did sometimes disconnect, however with my macbook pro I don't have this problem at all and I am very pleased with it.

-It does drain batteries, but you use it a lot and its wireless... I don't understand why people are surprised by this??
-People who complain about functionality simply don't know how to set it up correctly.
-If it is connecting to other computers, you aren't using it right.
    -Better with laptops and desktops.
