Can the mic be used with other apps on the i-pod touch, like shazam, other than voice control?

    Yes, it will work with shazam and everything else that needs a mic

  • Yes. The microphone functionally replaces the built in microphone, and works in all apps, but beware the microphone in these headphones are optimised for speaking voices at close distances, so may not pick up ambient music as well as the iPod's microphone for apps like Shazam.
