The cord of the EarPods is slightly longer than the previous headset. I can walk with my iPhone in my trouser leg pocket without any trace of the tugging there is with the headset supplied with my iPhone 4S. It's just 2 or 3 inches but for me it's significant and therefore welcome.

A little less than a meter / 3 feet. Think from a device in your pocket to your ears, with a good amount of slack, if you're of average height.

I would suppose it is the same length as the in-ear headphones which is 1065 mm (41.93 in.) from the audio jack to the splitter and 330 mm (12.99 in) from the splitter to the earpiece.
