Yes, as the Apple TV is an Apple IR product released after 2005. That also includes the G5 iMac's to current, most modern Macbook and Macbook Pros, G4 and Intel Mac Mini's and Apple iPod Docks.

Quoted from item description (directly above these Q/As):
"Compatible with Apple products introduced in 2005 or later that have a built-in infrared (IR) receiver."
So yes, this will work with Apple TV
Furthermore, Apple TV can be programmed to recognize commands from virtually any infrared remote control- Answered by Daniel E from Edinburgh

Yes it will, as long as your old/lost remote isn't already paired to your aTV. If that's that case, you can un-pair it by pointing the new remote at the aTV receiver and pushing and holding left+menu on the remote for about six seconds. Your aTV will now be unpaired and you can pair it with a new remote by pushing and holding right+menu.

Actually, I just bought this new remote, and although the little yellow light on my 1st Gen AppleTV lights up each time I press a button on the remote, it does NOT, in fact, work. It works with my MacBook Air and my fiancee's MacBook, but does not appear compatible with my old Apple TV.

This new upgrade of the Apple Remote is compatible with Apple products introduced in 2005 or later that have a built-in infrared (IR) receiver. Thus, it is compatible with every AppleTV to day (seeing how the AppleTV was introduced later than 2005 and has a built-in infrared receiver).

Yes, although I am unsure as to the support for the additional button. The Apple TV may require a software update for full support.

Yes. All models of the remote will work the Apple TV. You should have no problem, unless you have some type of infrared interference.

I'm hoping so as I just orded one. But it does say "Compatible with Apple products introduced in 2005 or later that have a built-in infrared (IR) receiver." Notice it says Apple "Products" to me that says the Apple TV will work and I wouldn't see why it wouldn't considering the current remote works on both the Apple TV and Macs as well. But I will let you know when I get mine.
