When you say cellular I think cell phone. Can I make phone calls with a cellular data plan?

    Unfortunately, you can't make phone calls on an iPad with 3G network capability. What "cellular data plan" is referring to is the contract that you can have with a network carrier in order to receive a mobile internet signal on an iPad with 3G capability. You can buy a data plan on the Apple Online Store when purchasing an iPad, or go to a carrier shop directly (for example AT&T in the US). The plans vary in price and the amount of mobile data you can get over the course of a month. Although if you have a 3G capable iPad, there are apps available that let you make free calls using your data connection to other Apple devices such as the iPhone and iPod touch.

  • No you can't make phone calls, but you can use it for texting others, surfing the web on the go, and video chatting with people while on a 4G LTE data connection. But, keep in mind these data plans need to be paid for with either 10$ a month, $20 a month and other prices!
