This is a great case in a lot of ways simply because it looks good and discreet on your computer BUT it is very pricey and the case itself gets scuffed easily. If grit, sand, etc gets in between the case and your computer, it WILL create minor scratches so clean frequently. Lastly but annoyingly, one of the clasps that hold the case to the computer broke off somehow. …More

I love the protection it offers, and it's not an unnatural color like pink or lime green... however, you cannot access the cable lock hole as the case partially covers it.

Deceiving After Application

While the device looks cool and sees light in hand while in the store, it takes on a whole new affect when at home and applied to the MacBook Pro. After applying the device, my MacBook felt like it weighed 15 pounds! Further more, the device didn't shut as nicely (meaning between body and LCD screen. And worse yet, the LCD screen lid and hinge seemed to be bogged down by this product, as you couldn't leave the lid at a 45 degree angle without it wanting to almost like slam shut! This may be obvious, and I apologize for that, but I just thought that I'd report a fix ... a month ago I bought one of these cases for the 13" MBP and it too covered the security slot on the 13". So with a sharp knife and a set of miniature files I modified the Speck case to provide a hole for the security slot. The case was easily cut with the sharp knife, meaning that it cuts and does NOT shatter the plastic! (Of course, you have to be careful cutting it so you don't slip and cut yourself.) After polishing the new edges with the mini-files, you don't even notice that the new hole was not original. (Bevel the edge of your new hole at the same angle as the original Speck edges.)
By the way, on the 13" MBP, the security slot was so close to the DVD slot that I had to also cut off the upper rim of the Speck case above the DVD slot since the new hole for the security slot encroached upon the DVD slot.
Hope this helps...it's a fix that's not too difficult to perform. Total Time for fix: <15 minutes, assuming you can find your set of miniature files. It took me around 8 of those 15 minutes to find my files. …More8 of 10 people found this useful

Usually Speck has great products but i was greatly disappointed with this case. If you're not a perfectionist then this case may be suitable. But, unfortunately, i am a perfectionist and this case (for $50) was terrible. it creaks, it has a TON of flash and is just not well made. But it does what it's meant to do... just not greatly.
