MayI just point out that Neoprene does not, in fact, let water flow through it. Although Neoprene IS a pourous material, the 'bubbles' in the material are not actually in contact, as in, say, a sponge. This means that neoprene itself is actually fairly waterproof. Yes, divers wetsuits DO allow water in, but this is through the seals at ankles, wrists and neck. It is possible to have, for instance, a Dry Suit made of neoprene.
However, I don't know whether or not this sleeve is or is not waterproof. As it is unlikely to have a specially designed waterproof zip, I suspect the answer is a resounding No. …More- Answered by PC from Enniskerry
