    Cool and fast

    • Written by from Red Deer

I bought the Thunderbolt to use with a Macbook Air and iMac - the iMac is a display for the Air. The cable works well - but the Apple Store where I bought it didn't tell me how to make the iMac work properly. One call to tech support - CMD + F2, System Preferences, Display - Mirror Display; cool! More

I was a little hesitant to spend the $50 at first, but once I actually used it, it was so worth it! I am truly amazed at how fast it is. The Apple Thunderbolt cable is a must have! More

    Warning for 27" iMac users

    • Written by from leeds

I've been looking for a solution to use my 27" i5 iMac as an extended desktop for my MBP and went into my local Apple store. My iMac is late 2009 so the first i5 quad core machine which only has mini display port. After speaking with 3 or 4 technicians in the store I was told as Thunderbolt is essentially the same connection it would work. Unfortunately they were all wrong, looks like I'll have to find another solution. I would have thought there would be a simple cable to allow me to do this! Nobody seems to know how best to do this with the machines I have but I'm told all 27" iMac's support this feature!! I'm sure the cable is great, just make sure your iMac has a thunderbolt port:-) I've given it 3 stars as it would be unfair to give it 1 due to poor advice from Apple. More

    Fast

    • Written by from WYNDHAM

Have had 3 of these cables one has failed though. Thunderbolt is very fast however I still wish they would put another option on the back of the drives for emergency use as I'm remote and it takes at least a week to get another cable. More
