Since I upgraded to Lion (they removed Front Row), it only controls iTunes - when I say it controls iTunes, I mean you can play a song or video that is already selected but you cannot change the selection. Additionally, you can control the volume; otherwise, it is useless now.

When not in use they are store in a drawer in our coffee table. The first and second remote had both stopped working and thinking that both times it was the battery, we replaced them only to not have them work. Very frustrated as I didn't think that these were going to be " disposable" remotes. Not sure what to do at this point as we don't want to purchase a third remote, and the remote apps on the Ipads haven't been working lately.

  • Durable but not baby spitup-proof

Worked flawlessly for 3 years on my Apple TV (release and update already!). Never had a problem, then I had a baby. He spits up Worked flawlessly for 3 years on my Apple TV (release and update already!). Never had a problem, then I had a baby. He spits up on everything. It hit the remote the other day and now the down button doesn't work. Been using an old white remote (it's not very good) and my phone (it responds slow).
Only gripe I've had in the past is the remote has to be aimed directly at the Apple TV (early 3rd generation) for it to work.

Time to buy a new remote.

But this remote is Rubbish in every respect. Way too small I spend more time looking for it than actually using it! And when you do finally find it the lack of buttons make simple tasks like entering a password a real pain. To top it off while I'm trying to select a movie on TV or entering a password its also simultaneously turning on and off music on my computer. Without doubt the worst apple product I have ever used.
