the best 720p, 1080i vga portable projectors for the money are the Samsung p400 & p410. LED bulb, 40 watt, ~20,000 hr bulb life (that's like 10 yrs if used 5 hrs/day). I use one with my mac mini and elgato eyetv as my entertainment center TV. It's awesome, trust me.

What about outputting the audio

Unfortionatly VGA does not carry audio aswell as video, to output audio you would need to purchase a 3.5mm audio cable with the appropriate plugs on the other end depending on whether you were plugging it in to PC speakers or a tv.

Will the keynote presentation display on both the iPad and the projector simultaneously?
When I connect the iPad to the VGA connector and run the keynote app, will the presentation play only on the projector, and thus having a blank screen on the iPad? Or will it play the presentation on both?

What cable do I need to purchase to stream netflix from my iPhone4s and watch on a pc?
We have Netflix and would like to be able to watch movies via our Netflix app on our iPhone4s on our laptop. There is a specific place we want to use this feature, but Wi-Fi connections don't exist....so we rely on our phones internet connection to watch netflix movies. What type of cable do we need to make this happen?

Well, for a start, most laptops screens don't have the ability to receive and display an external display source. 2 options I can think of:
1. Plugging your iPhone into your laptop and enabling Personal Hotspot (in Settings). That shares the internet from your phone, so your laptop can use it.
2. Finding another monitor, TV, whatever. If it has HDMI, that's your best bet. Get an "Apple Digital AV Adapter". There are other cables that support DVI, etc - just look around. Getting one of those does get the display, and in some cases, audio to the screen.- Answered by Cameron B from Usher

where does thw sound come out from the ipad or a tv when a movie is being projected???
when you connect the vga adapter to a cable which connects to the tv when a movie is being projected where does the sound come out from the ipad or the tv??? if it comes out from the ipad how can i change it so it will come out from the tv???

Can the VGA connector work with a projector that only has a DVI port but has a DVI to VGA plug adapter on?

DVI is a little strange, in that some DVI ports do have analog inputs or outputs. If your projector has this sort of DVI port, it will work with the adapter you mentioned. You can usually tell by looking for four small round holes above and below the flat blade connectors on the DVI connector. If they are absent, the DVI is digital only. If they are present, it is likely to be a DVI connection that also has analog capability (in spite of its name). The other responder is correct if the DVI is digital only. The conversion is difficult and expensive. But you may be in luck (as long as the limitations of the iPad VGA connector, and Keynote, mentioned in the reviews are acceptable for your use).

No, the Apple iPad Dock Connector to VGA Adapter doesn't have a second output to a power source. If you're projecting via VGA, there's currently no way to prevent running down your battery.

Does it output all game apps?
I'm getting mixed signals as to what thiis thing does. Does it just clone the ipad video to an external source? and if so, should all game apps be automatically viewable on a bigger lcd if i used it?

This adapter outputs video from SPECIFIC apps. These apps are the Photos app, the Videos app (although some movies purchased through iTunes (HD specifically, or so I have heard) wont work), Keynote, and any app in the App Store that says it will work with the VGA Adapter. Do not be fooled, although App Store apps that work with one adapter (VGA, Composite, or Component) should work with all 3 adapters, they don't. Meaning that though an app may work with the VGA adapter, it might not work with the Composite or Component adapters, even though it should!!
To my knowledge, there aren't any games that use these adapters.

Yes, mirroring works the same. It seems the only important difference is that you cannot charge you Ipad2 while it is hooked up.

Is it supoort iPhone 3G? also, it is a dock connector, is it means that an addition iPad Dock or iPhone Dock is necessary,

which vga extension lead would i need?
Hi, thinking of getting the VGA adapter for ipad and presume it will display normal web browsing up on the tv and photos etc/apps/games like brushes? also PDFS?
Also which vga extension lead would i need? is it a standard one with the plugs either end or do i need male/male male/female plugs etc?

I would get the double male sided VGA that is black and about six feet long, you can find it at wal-mart for about $20.
I'm sorry to say but it has limited capabilities and will only display

What cable /lead would I need to connect my ipad 2 to an elmo document camera so the image can be viewed on screen?
I have an elmo document camera and would like to be able to show the image on my ipad2 on the whiteboard, which is connected via the document camera. Is there any way to get sound as well?
