No it can not work in a dock but it can go in like one of the u plug in the earphone place

this is for devices you may already own or purchase that play, charge, etc. your ipod nano the device should be shaped the same way as this adapter and you fit it in and makes it easier to plug in the nano because the charger is on side of this model and is centered on most devices and classic ipods. It is for connivence so every time you go to plug in the ipod you dont have to try and line it up which could also result in damage to your ipod or device.

Yeah, it's called a Headphone Splitter. You plug in two headphones then plug the splitter into your iPod and your good to go. Hope that was helpful!

do these offset hole adaptors come with the hole on each side for front or back facing in the dock?
The nano has the female docking offset from center on the bottom of the ipod. the adapter is offset to the right when facing the front of the docking station. I need the adaptor with the offset hole on the left side when facing front so the ipod window will be facing front when its docked. otherwise the ipod nano is backwards and the screen does not face the front of the memorex docking station. If i buy the 3 pack do they all have different offset as positioned with the 2 clip on attachments on the bottom front. in another way to explain it i have a #18 adapter and the hole is like the photo positioned on the right, i need one with the hole positioned on the left. How can I get this part?

I have purchased an ipod touch and have a bose sounddock. Is there a adapter available? I previously used an ipod classic which is thicker.
I also have the same problem with my car (volkwagen golf) which has an inbuild dock which works fine for a thick ipod classic, but wobbles about with an ipod touch.

not unless one comes with your case. i have a plastic-ruber edged contour design case but it has no adapter so im stuck without one.
