whats the difference between the composite av cable & the digital av adapter

    The digital AV adapter is HDMI and includes a higher definition video output that the composite (RCA Jacks -Yellow, Red, White) which is analog video (yellow). I don't know if the audio signal is better in the HDMI vs the RCA (Red/White) - it depends on what the iPad sends.

  • The yellow RCA plug only delivers standard video, 480p or 320p so it would only be useful on smaller TVs, 30" and below. The advantage would be you could send it to a recorder as long as the iPad source is not copy protected or macrovisioned. The digital output hdmi cable would give 720p and 1080p video plus digital 5.1 audio, the analog red/white stereo would be lesser quality.
