Best webcam for mac mini?
Has anyone found a good webcam for use with a mac mini? I would prefer to be able to capture video directly in iMovie, without having to buy a thunderbolt display, and it seems like I wouldn't be able to do that with any of the webcams currently on the market.

So I am looking at getting the MBP in June and I want to use it for light gaming, i.e. battlefield 3 and or crisis 2,or 3.
Hey apple lovers, I am looking to get a MBP this summer but I want to know what I should get. As I said earlier I want to do some light gaming. I really don't think I need the high graphics but I also don't want to get an underpowered system. I am looking at the MBP 13in 2012, with a 500gb hard drive and 8gigs of ram. Think that would be enough? THANKS!!!

It doesn't directly lead to overheating.. I'm still able to use it on a day-to-day basis with no problems.. Its just that theres an increase CHANCE of it heating up (not overheating) if you do something intensive...
In terms of cooling.. as it is plastic if the laptop is hot it will take longer to cool down as plastic retains heat.. but it will cool overtime..- Answered by Alvi C

Will the 27" Thunderbolt Display power a USB SuperDrive?
My SuperDrive works only if I plug it directly into my Retina Display MBP, thus taking up one of the USB ports. My powered USB hub will not power the SuperDrive, and neither will the USB ports on the back of my 30" Cinema Display monitor.
If I get the 27" Thunderbolt Display, can I plug the SuperDrive into one of the USB ports on the back of the display and draw enough power from it?- Asked by Roger B from Los Angeles

You have to buy it as a DVD. The first downloadable version of OS X is 10.7 Lion.

Yes, but not easily. Long answer is that you would need to partition the time capsule to allow both the Mac Time Machine backups and another partition for Windows. Then you need to find a backup program for Windows that will backup over a network (Window's built in does not by default). Short answer, buy a few cheap external hard drives and make life easier.

Yes, there are academic editions of individual CS6 products and collections. Not to be confused with the light or pared-back versions of products (like Photoshop Elements), they are full versions offered at very substantially reduced prices.
You'll need to submit valid academic I.D. to purchase/activate the product.
An awesome solution for students - I wish I'd done this! - is Creative Cloud, which gives you use of the full range of Creative Suite applications for a monthly subscription of $14.95. does upgrades affect files and photos saved on current system?
I am currently on Leopard 10.5.8 and have bought the disc to upgrade to Snow leopard. Does upgrading risk any of the photos or files saved on my MAC?

No, but I'd backup before the upgrade. The main thing upgrades affect are apps that may not be supported by a newer OS. Many - but not all - apps get rewritten for each OS, but sometimes you'll find one that is completely unsupported on the newer platform.

Why doesn't my magic mouse reconnect automatically?
In my office when I leave my desk with my MacBook Pro if I go far enough away my mouse disconnects which is fine because I don't have it with me. I don't close the laptop because I am just going to open it again as soon as I sit down. When I come back to my desk it never reconnects. I have to go to the bluetooth menu and tell it to reconnect. If I close the laptop when I leave at night it always reconnects when I come back the next morning.

it seems apple are yet to release the ibook app for mac books - so you can only read books from itunes on your iphone - I travel lots and dont want a kindle as well as my laptop to pack so would love to be able to read books on my mac too - maybe they will release one soon?
