Connecting a macbook to a tv set

My sister has a macbook, it's not the new one but the one that was brought out right after the ibook g4 was retired. I'm getting her a tv for christmas and I also want to get a cable so that she can watch internet video on the tv too.

I really know nothing about computers so if you could tell me the exact cables I need I would be very grateful. Thanks

I want to connect macbook to Sony Bravia LCD screen.

I want to make a connection between macbook and Sony Bravia T (Eng3) 32 inch LCD TV. On the TV 2 HDMI and 1 PC inputs(VGA). I need length of cable around 6ft. So what is the cable most effective on this??

What is the best way to connect my late-2009 MacBook Pro to my TV? Do I need to use a MiniDisplay to DVI adapter AND a DVI to Video adapter?

I hope I'm not too clueless, but after reading a few reviews, I'm a little confused! Can someone please clarify?
