    Cannot use with a case

    Very surprised at Apple's poor design of this essential connector that doesnt fit when iPhone 5 has a case on. It's an expensive piece of kit that doesnt really work - who wants to remove the phone case to attach the connector to your iPhone accessories!

    This Product needs to be redone! It is a JOKE

    I purchased a Speck cover from Apple for my IPhone 5. Then I ordered this adapter so I could charge my phone in my car. Problem is that although my phone charger will charge the phone with the cover, the adapter will not. It doesn't make sense that Apple would make the stem too short. I can't use it and took it back. It is worthless to me. Redo this product. It is not deserving the Apple name. I own an IMac, Ipad2 and my Mini IPad ill be shipped to me soon. I love all the things I have purchased but this thing is a joke. Our phones are suppose to save us time. This doesn't!

    I only gave it the one star for what it is suppose to do. If I could give it no stars I would.

    Unable to Play Videos using Existing iPhone 4S Audio/Video Cable

    I bought this adapter so I continue to Play Videos using Existing iPhone 4S Audio/Video Cable. However I can on;y hear Audio, NO VIDEO.

    I have a car charger for my iPad 3 which obviously uses 30 pins and with this adapter I could charge my iPhone 5 without having to have additional coil. Awesome!!

    But it was very helpful that I read the reviews prior to making the purchase. I made sure I bought a phone cover that didn't interfere with the connecting of the adapter.

    Works with old Camera Connection Kit

    This perfectly works with my Camera Connection Kit to record with my Behringer UCA22 and Xenyx mixer! Having swapped my new iPad for the iPad with Retina Display, my only issue is it should come as free! Great kit.

    Is the only adapter that works with old car factory 30 Pins

    The cord did not allowed me to listen to my music on the car, this adapter does, had to cut my Candyshell Specks case. Hopefully the case manufactures correct their designs.

    Much sturdier than I expected when connecting my iPhone 5 to my main speaker.
    Apparently one just needs to invest in the right case. I have had zero issues with my Incase Pro Snap case connecting to any of my speakers, dock connectors, etc.
    Unfortunate that people give the device poor reviews as a result of user error.

    Worthless!!!!

    Bought this nifty $30 adaptor for my Mercedes iphone/pod/pad AUX hookup so I can listen to my music. Well ,it wont allow me to change songs, see play lists etc. I have to select a song then plug it in, then unplug it to make any changes. Come on apple little help here!!!!! Unless I'm doing something wrong, it's a major FAIL!!!!!

    If you want to be sure if it fit your case ...

    Got a Incase Pro Snap Case and there no problem using the adapter.

    The adapter has the same tickness as the metal edge of the iPhone. Wide it start over the second small hole near the audio jack, and end 5 holes from the end on the other side of the jack. Is your case left this space uncovered, the adapter should fit. Guess it will help :-)

    Overpriced and doesn't support a case

    Firstly, the obvious point here is that the product is overpriced. It is an adaptor, it's ridiculously priced.

    Also it doesn't fit into the device if you have a case on.

    Great dock convertor

    I used this to convert my JBL on stage iphone dock from 30 pin to lightning for my iphone5. The dock works exactly as it did before and the attachment to the phone is so firm I dont need to worry about the phone balancing.

    Works a treat

    Pity its not a little shorter

    Only works back to front so I cannot see front of iphone to choose music in car or dock......Apple say it must be faulty and to take it into store for testing. Not amused as expensive and not very practical.

    Disappointed, can't use

    I am very disappointed with this product. I knew there might be an issue with it working with various accessories. I have a Sony Dream machine that I have used with my iPhone 3gs and was very excited when this adapter finally came in. It works fine with the radio, however, it won't work with my iPhone with a case. I have a very minimalist case and don't want to take it off every night. I like to charge my phone overnight but still have it near me. Does anyone know if I can return this to the store even though I ordered it online? Thanks

    Works as advertised

    Small and compact enough to stick in your wallet. The width of your 30-pin to USB cable. Easy to lose. Over-priced. Necessary if you have the iPhone 5 and need to connect to devices like docks and such. Did I mention over-priced?

    make the body so high? When using to adapt on items like my alarm clock, it feels risky to have it resting just on the little pin. If the body of the adapter was shorter there would be less pressure on it...

    New adaptor

    I've just gone out & bought the new iPod nano & adaptor so I can use it on my docking stations around the house. Why oh why have Apple put the adaptor to the right on the nano? When I got items home & put them on my docking station the nano no longer sits centrally, it's offset to the left. It looks ridiculous & to be fair unsightly to look at. Had I known this before hand I would have got a classic that doesn't require new adaptor.

    OK but not for the money

    This product does not support video, but it works fine but it is to expensive for what it is. It is much smaller than it looks in the photos and its a pain using one adapter for everything, when if the price was lower, you could get a few and it won't be as bad.

    My fault for not reading the specs - but seriously, why doesn't this support video? This is so frustrating! Cant use my car stereo to its full capabilities because Apple keep moving the goal posts. Not happy at all.
