This is a not a good dock for your ipad, although since i bought my ipad case i now use it as a dock for my iPod touch which i never used to use This dock is so much better for an iPod Touch because when i was typing on the ipad there was no support on the back of the dock, only at the bottom which made the iPad wobble.

very disappointing...makes the product completely useless in my opinion. i bought the apple case for my iPad and in order to use the dock you have to take the iPad out of the case.....very poor design!!!!

If you have an iPad then you'll need the case. The Apple case is nice and works well. However, once you have the case on your iPad, you can't fit it on the docking station. So back I go to the Apple Store to return this product.

I, like many, purchased this dock as well as the case.
It seemed like an obviouse choice, but little did I realise how much it would annoy me, you really can not use both. Full stop. Cant take Ipad out of case once it is in it, not without a fight. Cant use dock with Ipad in case.

All Apple need to do is ensure this is made clear when ordering the products.
I love the Ipad. I NEED the Ipad. but I dont need to have a trio of incompatable products

I loved my Ipad. But unlike my Iphone...I really dont NEED my Ipad if it makes me irritated. Simple.

I have to agree. A useless product for a great product. You don't use it like a phone so don't dock it like one. Wish I had got the keyboard option instead once I realized that I would have to unpair my macpro from my wireless keyboard to get it to work with the iPad. Early adopters,eh!

Definitely recommend this dock plus the Bluetooth keyboard over the keyboard dock to give you added flexibility and potability. Works great sitting next to your computer on your desktop or as a photo frame on your living room table. The only disappointment is that it does not support a landscape display. You can get pretty quick at putting on and removing the case, so it's not really an issue the iPad doesn't fit on the dock with the case on.

Yes it wont fit an iPad with a case which I kind of get but it wont fit a 3G iPhone which kind of makes it even less useful.

Virtually useless as won't work with iPad in its official case.

this works really well as a iphone dock better than the universal i am buying 2 more for my iphone and ipod touch

Having no case for a month, I was excited to receive my dock and case on the same day. Trying out the dock it worked great. Then I fitted my case onto my iPad (a tight fit) but was extremely disappointed that the iPad wouldn't fit into the dock. The case on the back is too thick. Turns out, once you buy the case, you don't even really need the dock either. Just flip your iPad upside down (screen rotation) and plug your connector in there. I guess the only downfall would be you wouldn't have access to the headphone port. Try it on the side.
