Good but could be a lot better very easily.

This is perfect for what it says. It doesn't bother me that it doesn't come with a cable or it wasn't included with the phone. The following two points bother me because I see no reason why they cannot be solved.
1. Make the base a lot heavier. This needs to sit on a desk without being influenced by the weight of the cable. I should be able to lift the phone in and out without moving the dock or needing to hold it down.
2. Make a black one. I understand that a lot of Apple's products are white such as the Apple Macs and some of the iPhone and iPods but you now also do a lot in black. The most popular iPhone colour where I live is black and my iPod touch is also black as are most. It wouldn't cost any more either.
You have a great product, you can make the accessories so much better by watching people use them.79 of 85 people found this useful

This dock looks amazing i brought one but there is a tiny problem when i plug it into my iMac and starts to stuff up my iPhone 3GS

The product is great i got it today, it's brilliant however it a little disapointing that theres nothing else in the box apart from the dock, the white shinny plastic goes well with my incase slider white.

The compatibility is hit or miss. Sometimes when I connect my 3G(s) this charges as it should. Other times I get an error messgage that says this is not compatible with the iPhone.
Wait, isn't this sold as an iPhone 3G dock???

A great dock for the work place or home. Looks stylish and also has a headphone jack, which gives out great quality from the speakers. Cable would've been great though if it was to come.

I was a former owner of the 2G iPhone and when I bought the 3G iPhone last year I was disappointed to see it's missing the mediocre dock. i had to pay 35 bucks to buy this since my 2G dock didn't work with this. however I was pleased that this dock worked with my 3G S. in terms of the dock it self, it's nothing special and no major points. so it's not a necessary accesory.

The best thing this dock can be used for is to charge/sync your iPhone while it sits upright.
There's a line out jack, but you can't control the volume from your iPhone. Volume must be adjusted from the powered speakers. I don't know why they would take a feature like that out? Doesn't make sense.
It doesn't come with a cable, which I already knew, but it is pretty pointless if there's not an extra one.
Again, the only thing you're really getting out of this dock is that you're charging/syncing while the phone is standing upright.94 of 128 people found this useful

Absolutely love this product!
No, it doesn't come with a cable but I already had 2, big deal.
The sound is perfect! I can hear alarms, calls, messages clearly!

The only thing that isnt that good is that it doesnt come with its own USB cable. It would be cool if it had its own because then you could use it with your computer and keep the wall charger separate. Its annoying to have to pinch the USB cable to take the charger when you go out. Would be 5 stars if it came with its own.
Other than that I think its a great little device and looks great on my desk with my iMac, it a good looking little thing I tell you. I also like how when my iPhone is in it on my desk it is up right and easy too look at along side the computer screen rather than having to pick it up.Was this useful?

Great Dock but Sound Output is Poor

Great Dock and keeps the iPhone in clear view at the bedside table. One can connect External Speakers and I tried this with Headphones. The sound quality had dropped quite a bit and the clarity was not there. Not sure if anyone else had a similar problem.
The second thing as every one has stated, @ $ 35.00 Apple should have at least given a USB Connecting Cable.29 of 33 people found this useful

I bought the iPhone 3G S and don't like any case on my phone so I decided to get this. I absolutely love it I have it set up right next to my computer and love how I can play my music on it while on my computer. Don't pass this up!

The product is great .. but two things you should be aware of - first of all, there are no cables in the box (Not for USB or Line Out) - Second, you are not able to control the volume from the phone .. this can only be done on the amplifier, my amplifier is part of the subwoofer, so .. :(

I don't see why there are all the bad reviews this is an amazing product and so what if it's not included with the iPhone 3G. I don't mind paying a tiny £19 for this amazing product. I think it's an amazing price for how good it is. And I'm so glad that it works with the iPhone 3G S. And I can't wait till the iPhone 3G S is released and to upgrade to it. Well Done Apple!

Doesn't Work with iPhone Skins

This dock is fine for users who tote their iPhones around without a skin, but if you have any type of halfway decent iPhone skin on your iPhone, it will simply not work at all. In that case you will need the Apple Universal Dock for iPods and iPhones. That will allow you to connect your iPhone to your dock, skin and all. Other than that, if you have an iPhone 3G without a skin, than this dock will work fine for you. And as Apple says this won't work with the original iPhone. Another time you would need the Universal Dock.

This is an amazing product. I don't like the high price but it is worth it. I am using this dock with the USB power adapter that came with my iPhone and with the USB cable the also came included. Love it, Love it. Especially since I use the night stand app wihich is like a nightstand alarm clock. So nice. Also I hate looking for the cord everynight to charge my phone. This is nice because it is right where I left it when I return. It would be even better if this came with all three for a better price. I am only giving it a four star because I think it is very expensive.

As many have said, one of these should really have been included in the box, but at £19, I guess I can live with that.
However, what I can't live with is the fact that it doesn't include the USB cable!! I bought two of these (one for home, one for work), thinking that I'd then keep the cable that came with the iPhone for travel use. But I'm now going to have to spend even more on a couple of cables for the docks!
Not good guys. I can't think of any other cradle or dock type of product that doesn't at least include its own connecting cable.
So...lose one star for not including a dock with the iPhone in the first place and lose two more for not including the cable with the dock! Bad Apple!!123 of 142 people found this useful

Battery drains!

I agree with the previous review. You would expect this to charge your Iphone over night but instead it drains the battery. Caught me on a bad day with this and a dead phone. If you leave it in the dock and your computer goes to sleep, the battery steadily drains. Very annoying.

Bought this dock for work - it is so good that I am buying another for home. Compact, secure and easy to use phone whilst in dock. Rubber base prevents slippage. Ideal when working at desk. A Great product.

this is a very high-quality product. the iphone fits VERY snug and doesn't move around or wiggle in the dock. Its got a rubber or silicone (not sure which) bottom so it doesn't slide across whatever surface its on. The audio out hole-thingy i helpful so i don't have to reach a cable all the way up to the top of the iphone. and the audio coming out of it seems much clearer, and im not even sure if its supposed to be that way. I really wish it came with an extra USB cable, but it doesn't, unfortunately. But it seems overpriced for $30 USD, i would think its worth $20, but whatever its only a difference of $10. This would defiantly be 5-star if it came with another USB cable.
