    Pointer/cursor problem with corded Mighty Mouse

    The pointer/cursor will suddenly disappear into one of the corners of the screen sometimes taking an icon off the dock with it never to be retrieved. Apple consider the problem to be with the Mac and not with the mouse. The problem remains unresolved. A cordless mouse works fine.

    Bad design with scroll button

    My scroll button stopped working. I have tried all the cleaning tips but it stops scrolling down. Only works up now. Terrible product! Do not buy one!

    Poor Product

    I got my iMac with the Keyboard & MOUSE. after a few months, it started showing signs that it has some problems.. . . . The dirt gets stuck easily in the scroll bar and the side bars.. . . It took me a long time to clean and fix it because when i tried to scroll it down. . nothing happens.. . i thought that i just made a wrong configuration to make it NOT work. . .but then the following day, it just didn't work. .Now, both buttons won't work. The Primary and Secondary buttons are not working and the Side buttons as well. The design was poor and cost $50. . .i know Apple made a new one, the Magic Mouse. But before they even thought about making a new one, They should think about how they can improve their other products because i know that i'm not the only one who had the same problem. . Now people have no other choice but to spend money and buy a new one. . This is just unacceptable. I am certainly expecting a solution to this type of problem.

    Huge oversight

    88% of the earth is right handed...
    this corded mouse wont reach over to my right side unless it goes over the keyboard. Cord is way too short. I am returning it immediately.

    Major design defect for any macbook pro owner.

    Scroll Ball Is Weak

    While the mouse itself works fine, I've now owned 3 of these and had the scroll ball go bad on all of them, pretty quickly too. One of them didn't even make it more than a few days before the scroll ball wouldn't register left or right. The one I'm currently using only registers 'up' on the ball now, and even that is really sporadic. Get a different mouse if you want to scroll.

    Not bad, keep it clean.

    I started my new job, and the CPU I was assigned to had the mighty mouse. I was told that it worked great, yet the scroll function didn't work. I used the white paper trick, with a tiny bit of saliva. Works like new. Expose is great; right click works well just not at the same time as left. I don't recommend this mouse for any serious gaming. Otherwise good little mouse. You'd be surprised at how quick people are to write things off as bad products when they just need to take a little better care of them.

    I love apple product and this is a very nice one. It is also a lot more comfortable than the new magic mouse. I'd say, Valuable.

    Awesome mouse

    Despite what ergonomics experts say about this mouse, it feels comfortable in my hand and the scroll ball has spoiled me. I'm primarily a PC user and I find this a dream to use in Windows. I have three of these mice and use them on all of my machines. I'm fairly certain I'm the only person who walks into a Starbucks and pulls out an Apple mouse to connect to a ThinkPad.

    The side-squeeze button defaults to behaving as a 'back' button in browsers, which is really quite useful. I wish the BootCamp drivers allowed that action to be customized, but I'm fairly happy with its utility either way.

    My only gripe with the mouse is the inability to simultaneously left and right click or go immediately from right click to left click. This just means I have to connect a second Apple mouse or use a different mouse if I want to play an FPS.

    i know of 2 different versions, they look close to the same.

    Flat out, the only issues that plague this mouse are

    1) Scroll Ball and Filth/Grease/skin oils

    2) Right Click and Left Click at the same time
    Magic mouse has the same issue, but with the Magic mouse
    there is a software hack to make the right and left work, not sure
    if that software works with the mighty mouse.

    I am not sure what revision deals better with skin oil and a gummed up scroll wheel, but there are some versions of the Mighty Mouse, Aka, Apple Mouse, that are less sensitive to dirt oil in the ball.

    some professionals have seriously been using the magic mouse for many years, with out any issues with the scroll ball.

    so i don't know... i personally had (1) mighty mouse back in 2007 where the scroll ball stopped working, You cant service these things, they are glued together.
    it would be one thing if you could replace the scroll unit for like 6.95 + shipping.

    i just found some new old stock Mighty mouses for 10 dollars each... so i bought 3, so far the wheel's are all working like they should, I will try that white paper trick, and if that doesn't work i may lick it ... ( if these stop working ) they may not.

    i had the version that stopped working at home... i compared it to the 3 i just bought and the one from 2007 was labeled a little different, might have been manufactured by different contract. Made inTaiwan VS made in china, pretty sure if my memory is correct. one thing is for sure they were a hair different.

    Great Mouse

    A lot of people say the scroll ball doesn't work, but I found it worked very well. I've had it for years and it hasn't failed. Wonderful design! It has a nice shape that is extremely comfortable in my hand. Great mouse; I definitely reccommend it.

    Apple Mouse, not so Mighty.

    The apple mouse or (Mighty Mouse) as some have called it, is a great little mouse. I enjoy the features it does have, the 360 scroll ball, the pressure sensors on the side really come in handy, and it just overall has a good feel.

    The downside to this mouse is the high maintenance, you need to clean it every day or the ball will stop scrolling, and the bottom will collect a lot of dust.

    If you don't mind high maintenance than you should get it for the features it does have. However I don't believe it's worth the price they ask (as with any apple product).

    Roller ball keeps failing

    I've had this mouse since I purchased my i-Mac G5. NEVER had a problem. Ever. Is it possible I've had it since 2005? Love it.

    Make it scroll again

    I just had the experience of the mouse not scrolling down. I washed my hands, inverted the mouse and rubbed it on a new piece of white paper. Tried this several times. No luck. I was getting desperate and a little annoyed and was thinking about buying another mouse. Then I thought hey maybe if I dampen the wheel it might clean better. You guessed it. I licked the wheel and went back to the white paper. Presto! It worked like a charm.
    If you can't join them, lick em.
