Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic
Don't work as in-ear phones. Avoid.
Written by JM from Kirkkonummi

Well they look great, the sound is ok and the remote button works nicely. However, even a small movement or touch to cables will disconnect them from your ear canals. And in-ear phones that are not well connected are quite useless.
I previsously used a pair of Etymotic er6i and those stick very well in the ear. I could snowboard or even ride a motorbike with closed helmet. But these Apple's In-Ear phones work only if you lay down still. Forget wearing caps or jackets with high collars with them, because any movement or touch to the chords will misplace them inside you ear, ruining the in-ear effect.1 of 4 people found this useful

The headphones are extremely light, strong and small. Some of the best designed earbuds i have ever seen! I would give the overall sound 9/10, its actually pretty good, but not as good as full on-ear headphones. Another awesome product by apple!

Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic
Superb product

I've had these for nearly a year now and they're in near-daily use. As such, I can't understand where the negative comments about poor build quality come from. Look after them and they'll be fine. Keep them in the sturdy plastic case (provided) if you ain't gonna use them for a while.
Sound quality is excellent - please don't take any notice of those reviewers who complain about lack of bass. It's all there and it sounds rich and detailed; it's not overbearing and lacking in subtlety, which is maybe what some users want. If all you've ever been used to are Apple (or any other OE) phones, these will delight you. They cancel external noise effectively, too, which is another boon to listening pleasure (or you can just slip them on in a noisy office to dampen out some of the din....).
The remote on the right-hand cord is terrific (my iPod Nano 5G and 120GB Classic are both compatible). Pause, skip, rewind, control the volume and (on the Nano), call up the voiceover function without moving the device from your pocket.
Don't use them for running - why anybody would want to use anything other than over-ear sports phones for that is beyond me, anyway.
I'd recommend them to anybody – especially owners of later iPods, who can take advantage of the neat remote functions.1 of 2 people found this useful

Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic
the old ones were WAY better!
Written by DS from DALLAS

For like $79, these headphones are NOT WORTH IT! They don't stay in your ear, and the bass quality is low. The old apple in-ear earbuds cost only like $39, and they actually stayed in my ear and were way more comfortable. These fall out of my ear-especially during workouts. Although the remote is a nice feature, it's not worth the price. Just get the normal ones.

2nd pair of headphones - I work out hard - apparently sweating causes the headphones to not work. 1st set broke the first day - causes the volume and shuffle control to not work. 2nd pair broked on the 2nd workout.
These are horrible.........especially for the price.8 of 20 people found this useful

Apple Headphones

These are some of the worst headphones I have ever owned. They do not fit properly into my ears and yes I have tried all the different pieces. They have decent bass and sound but unless you hold them in or push them back into your ears every three seconds it kinda fades out. After having them for 5 months on limited use the right headphone gave out. So now I have a 70 dollar headphone and a mic. Awesome.... Do yourself and either upgrade big or just spend 50 or so on a normal pair of other brand headphones... Dont waist your money

Best headphones I have ever owned. Amazing sound quality. Just a little too, big sometimes slip out, rarely. If you plan to use them for workouts, forget it. they work great for bus rides or any noisy place that you just want to sit and listen to music. I would recommend them to anybody for this purpose. I use them for push mowing and they cut the noise down and work great. You don't have to turn up the music very much at all.

GREAT SOUND... but

These have AMAZING sound quality, and with hardware comparable to very high end $200+ phones, these are actually a pretty wicked deal. There is one huge downside though, and it's the silicon tips. I'm not sure if anyone has experienced the same problem as me, but putting these in and out of your pockets causes the tips to get pulled off once and stretch (i think) and they ALWAYS fall off after that. I've lost almost 3 now and it isn't cool because you have to call up apple and have the units exchanged (only within the 1st year will they do that btw). I haven't really figured out a permanent solution to this problem, but i'm considering glue. Even with that problem these headphones are well worth it and you will never want to listen to music without these, especially when you realize how bad those stock iPod headphones are!! Great product, just be careful with it!

The silicone-tips tend to fall of after a while, and aperently it is not possible to by ekstras in the appleshop - the same goes for the mesh caps, when you have used the to replacements that came with the headphones, then what?
I have had mine for about 4 months now, and tips are very loose and sooner or later the get lost, and I have just put the second mesh cap on!3 of 5 people found this useful

Decent but...
Written by AS from North Royalton

I bought these because the headphones that came with my iPhone were TERRIBLE. These were touted as emitting high quality sound while being very easy on the ears. Well, they are a TON better on the ears; but after only two months the grip that holds the earbuds to the rest of the wiring has worn down and I often find one of two things happening: 1. The earbuds remain in my ear when I try to take them out (the grip lets go of the wiring) 2. The earbuds slip off while sitting on my desk.
If the product was cheaper I'd say sure go for it; but at 70+ or whatever it is now; you should be able to find something that is of better quality.8 of 9 people found this useful

Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic
Not as good as I thought..
Written by TP from Silver Spring

Bought these about 3 or 2 months ago thinking that these would be on par with vmodas or even better. Turns out that these don't even COMPARE to vmodas. The second I use them, I was utterly disappointed; the sound was "dull" and there was a minimal hint of bass. When I bought my vmodas they sounded amazing, even before the break-in.
I later realized that the apple squishies didn't completely seal my ear canal and kept falling out no matter what I did (tried all of the sizes constantly to find the best fit). But to no avail..I was very close to returning these the same day. LUCKILY, I had a bootlegged pair of apple IE's that I got from eBay and decided to switch the squishies (honestly apple, I really shouldn't even have to be doing this). And then TADA, they actually STAYED in my ear! The apple squishies were too soft..the ones from eBay actually have a little more friction to them (thank God).
Now the sound quality is significantly "better" but honestly not by much. The bass..below average. The highs and lows..surprisingly good and very crisp. No distortion unless you really listen to bass-heavy music. If you're an audiophile..don't waste your money on these. If you just want a very lightweight, exceptional build-quality, extremely good-looking pair of IE's and you're not expecting to be immersed in a live performance with any headphones, look no further; your search ends here.3 of 4 people found this useful

These actually out do my Shure 115's. Wow, Crisp Clear audio. Bass response is to be expected from buds. Waiting til these burn in then they should be great!! I would strongly recommend. Using on the iphone, very nice design. These sit deep in the ear nice and flush to my head, unlike the Shure's.
