JUST PURCHASED BOTH THE BP AND SCALE FROM WITHINGS. THE BP WORKS ON ALL DEVICES. BUT THE SCALE IS NOT SETING UP BECAUSE I RUN 10.7 IOS VERSION ON MAC MINI, NEW IPAD, AND IPHONE 4S. HAS AN UPDATE BEEN RELEASED, I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO CONTACT WITHINGS?

nice scale if you are single

    • Written by from johnston

The scale is quite nice in that it displays weight, and fat % and graphs it out for you on a nice mobile app and their website. The problem comes when you have multiple people who use it. It seems the only way the scale can tell who is who is by weight. One of our family members weighs in very close to that of another family member and usually the scale will show one person's name on the left and another person's name on the right and you just shift your weight on the scale in order to choose your profile name. That is not always the case however because just today the scale would not even give the person a choice as to what profile they were...it just assumed it was the other person. I updated the persons weight online on the scales website that tracks profiles and we tried again. It still did not pick the right persons profile and did not even let them choose.

Bottom line: This scale is great if you are from a single household or a household where there are few people and they all have different weights. It may work by giving you the onscreen choice to pick between two similar profiles but as mentioned above sometimes that does not seem to function correctly and it ends up being more trouble then it is worth.

    Great Product!

I've been using the Withings Body Scale for almost 5 weeks now and have to say that I'm really pleased with it. Hope that Retina support for the new iPad is on the way though! Buy, you won't be disappointed.

    weight depends on surface

    • Written by from London

In general these seem to be great scales. My only real issue is that if you move them from one place to another your weight seems to change - by as much a a few pounds. I know ideally you would leave your scales in the same location all the time, but this is not always possible. I find myself having to check my weight periodically just to check that the scales correctly !!

    Junk!

    • Written by from Collingswood

I am very technically proficient and could not get this scale to work. Never did show me a weight, just a big checkmark. Documentation did not tell me what this meant, and the Withings help center is useless. Yes, I successfully paired the scale to my account and it shows up in my web account. It just simply does not provide a weight, whether I tap it first, or just get on. I even changed out the batteries with no luck. Junk, junk, junk!

    Inaccurate -- way off!

There was a 20 lb. weight variation between carpet and hard floor surfaces. And yes, I installed the add-on carpet feet provided in the package.

    Brilliant

Use it every day, to give me some depressive motivation to lose weight.

Measures very accurately, and allows me to track progress using my iPhone. Personally I don't use their app that accompanies this as it lacks a bit, but syncs perfectly with 'Target Weight' which has a lot more functionality.

    Best scale I've ever used.

    • Written by from Collie

I love the integration of this scale with various iOS apps I use to track my weight and exercise. I don't have to think about what the scale does, it just works, and my current weight shows up on the apps I use.

One word to describe this product is "quality", both the scale and the intuitive/easy to use software. I own both the scale and the blood pressure monitor, both products are top quality.

My first ever review of any product!

    • Written by from fairfax

    Hello everyone,

I never review products but felt this would b a good one to start with because of all the 1-5 star mixed reviews.

I have had the scale for a week so my opinion is based off of this time period.

The instructions in the package are limited however it basically is directing you straight to the website. Set up was fairly simple considering an internet connection is involved.

The scale read weight faily consistant. I only notice a .1-.3 weight difference when weighing myself a few times in a row. Very good when wanting to look at trends over time.

Info gets to my iphone in about 10 seconds and is easy to visually see info.

My wife has a user set up for herself, all that info goes to her account/mobile and the scale hasnt had any confusion.

I do not think its fair for people to give a poor review when they didnt even set it up or could not figure the thing out. It takes about as much tech. savvy as lets say syncing an ipod to itunes.

Overall a god product and i think it will certainly suite my needs.

    Hope this helps!

    Fantastic bit of kit.

    • Written by from Farnborough

For years and years i've been meaning to start thinking about losing some weight, these babies have motivated me no end.

A really cool piece of kit.

Setup is very easy, ongoing use is great, you can link your withings accounts with various services, fitbit, digifit and lose it! to name a few.

The free withings apps for both iphone and ipad work as expected, and provide a good historical view of readings (also ties in nicely with the blood pressure monitor).

    Not bad?

    • Written by from Levittown

The instructions are dissapointing. Withings needs a wake-up call. Have a sheet for those that don't like to read with big pictures and large green check marks along with cautionary red X's, paired with a real instruction manual. I am a very Geeky type and still found myself flustered by the lack of direction in the instructions and on their website.

In spite of the instructions I got the scale working by reading the online FAQ's and Google reviews of the product. I finally got it to to show something in the display, linked up with my WiFi and installed the carpet feet. However, the scale kept confusing my weigh-ins with a housemate that weighs 7 pounds more than me and was unable to get an accurate weight measurement on carpet.

Overall, it's not a bad scale, once you put it on a hard surface and keep track of who weighs in and when to claim the weigh in on the iphone app. However, I think it suffers from poor direction by the manufacturer. The concept is fantastic. The execution is amateurish, based upon the user having to make sure to check the weight measurement to make sure it went to the right user and an apparent inability to use it on carpet even with the adapters. I give it an ehhhh?

    Poor experience

    • Written by from Creve Coeur

I am returning this to the Apple store. During initial set-up, I mis-estimated my weight, and the scale did not associate my weighings with me. Due to the poor documentation, it took some experimentation to fix this. The web site is ugly and hard to use, but everything worked acceptably for a few days. Now the web site is very, very slow, the iPhone app doesn't show the same information as the web site, and my latest weight from the scale isn't showing up on either. Poor set-up, poor documentation, poor user experience- it's impossible to justify the time spent fiddling with this, let alone the money.

Scales Great but Website is terrible!!

    • Written by from Warninglid

    The positives: The Scales
The scales are great, easy to use. I also bought the blood pressure monitor. Great to monitor training progress as you don't need to write anything down - now read the negatives!!

    The negatives: The Website
    1. The graphs on the website take a little getting used to. They are not intuitive and could present the data better.
    2. The web site seems to creek sometimes and is often inaccessible. When I can access it, it is very very slow.
    3. Sometimes the website loses data - particularly height which is a pain because I don't remember the exact measurements!!!

    Suggestions
    1. Improve the website basics such as hosting and design,
    2. The website could give tailored weight loss / exercise advice (subject to the expected caveats). It could also advise on aspects such as blood pressure, etc..

    Totally Innacurate

    • Written by from Chula Vista

It is a good concept with terribly flawed execution. This is the most inaccurate scale I have ever used. I weigh myself every morning. Often I will step on, and the scale shows 197. I step off and right back on and it displays 192. When I step on my old scale, it says 190.5. I regularly see 3 to 6 lb differentials over the course of a few seconds. What good is having all of that data if you know it isn't correct? It's not worth $160.
