Answer
Yes, the new macbook pro would be excellent, however, if you are just doing data entry/ accounting (namely text based stuff), the macbook air is a lighter, cheaper option that will be plenty fast and powerful for your needs.

No, Final Cut Pro X is Apple's 'top-of-the-line" video editing program. However, all Macs come with a software package called iLife which includes iMovie (a more simple video editor). If you need Final Cut, you can buy it on the Mac App Store or at an Apple Store. Final Cut Pro X costs $300.

After I back up with Time Machine can I erase files on my hard drive to get more space?
- Asked by Barry J from Campbellville

Answer
Barry,
If you're not going to keep accessing those files, you can go ahead. However to make space on your HD, I just copy those files to a thumb drive. My understanding was the backup should be used as protection in the event of your device "crashing" and then using the backup to restore what you once had on the HD.- Answered by Gordon R from Waipahu

How do I make an app stop asking if I am sure I want to open a program downloaded from the internet every time I open it?
I have a program from a trusted source that should run when I turn on my Mac, but every single time it pops up a security warning asking if I really want to run a program that was downloaded from the internet. Is there a way to make the app trusted so it just starts without and need for me to verify it?

Target Display Mode?
Hello all,
Ok so here's my situation. I have a mid 2010 iMac and a 2008 Mac Pro tower that I recently acquired in a trade for my older Macbook Pro.
I'd like to upgrade the Mac Pro with a wicked graphics card so I can game using bootcamp, and use my iMac for work and OS stuff and be able to switch between the two only using a single screen.
I know that my iMac is the model that has the target display mode, but I'm worried that this card (Radeon HD 5770) won't be compatible with target display mode.
Can anyone confirm or clarify this for me? Or suggest a card that does work?
Thanks!- Asked by Ryan L from Kelowna

- Asked about: ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphics Upgrade…
Answer
Greetings,
I have a 2008 Mac Pro 3,1 Tower with the ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphics Upgrade Kit for Mac Pro. Currently I'm running two full HD monitors off this one card and have not had a problem.
I don't have an iMac so I can't test it out for you, but from what I've gleaned from the net, it should not be a problem.
Do a Google search for "Target Display Mode". Find the link for an article on this subject by Tom Nelson.
Indications are that all is needed for your iMac to work in Target Display Mode is a video signal at your Thunderbolt port or DisplayPort, or you can select Target Display Mode manually by using Command F2.
The ATI Radeon HD 5770 card is equipped with 2 DisplayPorts and 1 DVI port.
All you need is the proper cable. Apple now sell a shorter 50cm version.
Regardless, the ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphics Upgrade Kit is a good buy and is compatible with all the latest and greatest software.
Cheers

I'm currently running OS X 10.5.8 would I be able to upgrade directly to the new OS X Mountain Lion without getting any of the upgrades inbetween?

Best Answer
No, unfortunately you can only upgrade to Mountain Lion (OSX 10.8) by downloading it from the Mac App store which is only available from Snow Leopard onwards. You would need to first upgrade to Snow Leopard and then update to the latest version (10.6.8) then you can download Mountain Lion from the Mac App store.
