Best webcam for mac mini?
Has anyone found a good webcam for use with a mac mini? I would prefer to be able to capture video directly in iMovie, without having to buy a thunderbolt display, and it seems like I wouldn't be able to do that with any of the webcams currently on the market.

Which 13 inch Macbook Pro?
I am looking to buy my first macbook, and I want good processing. I do a lot of internet surfing and documenting, along with mulitudes of other stuff... And I'm on a budget so I cant be too spendy. I watch a LOT of downloaded movies and have a lot of songs. So basicly I would like to know what amount of ram, what amount of GHz, what core, and what hard drive to get. Any answers in the future, I thank you.

Answer
From what you have described I would recommend the 13" Macbook Pro with 2.5GHz Intel Core i5 with the 750Gb hard drive option. Here is why, it will be much cheaper than the retina macbook pro and with far more hard drive space as the retina only has 128 Gb standard. Next you will also be able to upgrade the non retina macbook pro in the future if needed while the retina MBP is non upgradable, its how you get it from the factory. The Solid state drive in the rMBP is not worth it for what you do and the added speed is not a dealbreaker for what you will use your new laptop for. Hopefully this helps you make your decision.

Mountain lion and snow leopard are different updates of the computer operating system, OS X. Mountain lion is the name given for OS 10.8 and Snow Leopard is the name given for OS 10.6, with Lion in the middle at OS 10.7.
But if you buy a new iMac, it should come with the latest version of the operating system, which is Mountain Lion, currently at 10.8.2. And if it is running Snow leopard or higher, than you can upgrade online by opening the "App Store" on the iMac and buying and downloading the upgrades to get to the latest release.
Of course, if you are buying an older iMac, then double check which version of the operating system is the highest one that will run on that machine. Each new version has system requirements that an older machine may not meet.- Answered by Larry S from Brookline

Answer
You probably meant to say you need 10.6.8 or higher (10.8.2 is the highest available version of 10.8, so nothing can currently require 10.8.8). If so, just go to the Apple menu and select Software Update and your 10.6.6 will be updated to 10.6.8.

So I am looking at getting the MBP in June and I want to use it for light gaming, i.e. battlefield 3 and or crisis 2,or 3.
Hey apple lovers, I am looking to get a MBP this summer but I want to know what I should get. As I said earlier I want to do some light gaming. I really don't think I need the high graphics but I also don't want to get an underpowered system. I am looking at the MBP 13in 2012, with a 500gb hard drive and 8gigs of ram. Think that would be enough? THANKS!!!

Best Answer
It doesn't directly lead to overheating.. I'm still able to use it on a day-to-day basis with no problems.. Its just that theres an increase CHANCE of it heating up (not overheating) if you do something intensive...
In terms of cooling.. as it is plastic if the laptop is hot it will take longer to cool down as plastic retains heat.. but it will cool overtime..- Answered by Alvi C

Will the 27" Thunderbolt Display power a USB SuperDrive?
My SuperDrive works only if I plug it directly into my Retina Display MBP, thus taking up one of the USB ports. My powered USB hub will not power the SuperDrive, and neither will the USB ports on the back of my 30" Cinema Display monitor.
If I get the 27" Thunderbolt Display, can I plug the SuperDrive into one of the USB ports on the back of the display and draw enough power from it?- Asked by Roger B from Los Angeles

Do any of your chess games allow me to force the computer to play a particular opening?
I ask this question because I want to use the computer to help me improve in certain chess openings. For example, if I play white, can I force black (the computer) to play the French defence? The game that came with my mac will not allow me to do this.
