What if I use the SANlink to connect an Imac to my 10GB optical network? Our cables are fiber, but the network is not a SAN.

    No, you can't. It is ONLY for connecting to a Fibrechannel SAN.

    Its basically the same as a dual port LSI Gb/s Fibrechannel PCIe card, but instead of being a PCIe card, its thunderbolt so that you can use it with mac mini's or with laptops, allowing them to access fibrechannel storage area networks.
