assuming you have the older model MBP and not a unibody (which plugs straight in) you would need an adaptor that switches mini dvi to mini display port, to my knowledge, no there is no adaptor that does this. in all honesty though, it would be much cheaper and easier for you (and probably get you an equally inpressive display) to buy the older mini dvi to DVI adaptor ($25AUD) and get a nice 3rd party LED/LCD display (Samsung, Dell, Benq, LG all make great ones) or TV. this way, you will get a bigger screen (for the same money) or the same size/quality screen (for much less money) and the added bonus of not needing another cable for audio signal (because the mini display port does not 'do' audio signal)
