Can I transfer my files off my power Mac G4 to my new iMac running on OSX version 10.7.2 with a 400 to 800 fire wire ?

Answer
Yes, you will be able to transfer your files between your PowerMac and your iMac, no matter what the operating system is. Make sure that yo also have a FireWire 400 cable that you will use to hook up the transferring. Plug the adapter into the iMac. Then plug one end of the FireWire 400 cable into the adapter and the other end into the PowerMac. the computers should recognize it, but if it does not put the iMac into target disk mode and then transfer your files from the PowerMac to the iMac as if you were transferring information to a external hard drive. …More
