Get the perfect fit before writing them off!

I bought these headphones based upon numerous reviews I had read. When they arrived, I was a little disappointed. They sounded quite 'tinny' and the bass promised was not evident. However, after getting used to them and realising they need to fit the ear canal passage snuggly, treble seems to have been reduced and the bass is much clearer. I'm no sound guru, but they certainly do a good job. They definately isolate background noise also... I can't hear anyone around me when I'm working!! …More

Great, but use with Bass Reducer EQ preset
Written by AS from London

I used to use the £70 Shure E2C, which sound amazing, but are very uncomfortable, and I didn't want to spend that much money again. At first I was a bit disappointed with the CX300 because the bass is much too pronounced, making everything sound muddy and giving me a slight headache. However, I've just started using the Bass Reducer EQ preset on my iPod and that basically sorted it out. They now sound almost as good as the Shure E2C: punchy bass but still very crisp. And infinitely more comfortable to wear! I'm impressed. …More

Great

In a word - Great!
To be more precise,
Great:
Sound – a nice clear sound, plenty of punchy bass.
Looks – a well designed, sleek looking piece of kit. Very Low Profile
Price – don’t spend more than this on in-ear headphones
Comfort – they slide in and stay in, you’ll forget they are there.
Price – don’t spend more on any other in-ear headphone, these will keep most audiophiles (like myself) very happy.
Other headphones of this type (ie Apple's iPod In-Ear Headphones) reportedly make a lot of rustling noises when you move, these wont make any noise you will hear over your music (but you will hear footsteps when you walk). A great all-round headphone, a must have accessory for every iPod owner. They don’t fall out your ear either.
P.S. No, I Don’t Work For Sennheiser! …More284 of 443 people found this useful

Pretty Good

I have had these headphones for just over a year, i opted for the white version of these headphones. After one year they still produce very good sound quality. the only complaint i have is that they whistle quite badly in the wind. Also they are looking quite dirty, i know it is to be expected of a white product but even after several attempts they still look dirty (especially around the audio plug). Overall a great product for the price. …More

Mediocre

They are an upgrade from the ipod standard ones, but after having these headphones for a couple of years now i've noticed alot of problems, firstly the bass is lacking and when I turn the ipod EQ on the bass becomes distorted, also as written in previous reviews when you accidently hit the wire it reverberates into the ear piece like the sound of rolf harris's wobble board in your ear. Also if you're out and about in the wind it makes a racket in your ear piece, the cone had also started collapsing and when inserting it in my ear it suctions itself onto the main piece of the earphone back. but for the price they are now they're are quite reasonable. …More
