Just an OK Case

At $79 I expected it to be a gorgeous leather and very functional, but it's not. It really does not feel like leather at all, and I just have not been able to prop the iPad up on a table with the case, the way that I expected I could.. I am thinking about returning it for a refund. …

Great case; really adds to the iPad Air

I immediately decided to get it. I have prior experience with the Smart Case for a previous iPad (3) and didn't like it because the lip at the top seemed wide, clunky, and bulky. It could be that the new smaller form factor of the iPad Air allows it's Smart Case to be more pleasing. The top lip is narrow (like the bezel) and you hardly notice it. For my previous iPad I had both the Smart Case and a Smart Cover which I used in combination with a Belkin Snap Shield Secure. The Belkin case is a low profile shell (for the back) that was designed to accept the Smart Cover. I bring this up because it was my intention to use both setups and alternate them but since I disliked the older Smart Case so much I ended up never using it. For this new Smart Case, this is the only case I intend to get as I really like it. It's pricey as leather is the only choice, but if I had gotten the less expensive Smart Cover, I would have gotten an additional shell for the back so there would be extra cost there. I don't mind paying a little extra for a good solution like this. …

If you want your iPad to stay spotless, clean and safe from scratches this case is the best since the microfibre padded interior will protect your Ipad fully from weathering and dust, compared to the plastic snap on cases that will scratch your iPad sides and corners at the snap on hinges and fill with dust with time. This is not the most functional, and there are other cases out there that offer great functionality, (for those who prefer functionality and don't mind the state of their device.), but as I said before it doesn't offer the protection I was looking for, so I can't complain since my priority is that my Ipad stays as new for a very long time. (Although Apple could have designed a case with greater functionality - I'm okay with it).
For those who say it's pricey, you don't buy such an obviously expensive device to after complain about the price of an obviously good case with quality materials and construction. …

An adequate case

It is better than I expected, but not amazing. I've used the Smart Cover for an older iPad and it is much sturdier. I will keep this though. I rarely use the upright stand position, and as long as you don't push your iPad, it will stay standing. Otherwise, it's a pretty good case. …

I hated spending this much on this case but I thought it would be the best, but it isn't. Apple needs to read these reviews and fix these cases. I'm taking mine back. …

No. The iPad Air is thinner than the iPad 2/3/4 due to the smaller bezel on both sides.
