Features

The 60 Watt MagSafe Power Adaptor features a magnetic DC connector that ensures your power cable will disconnect if it experiences undue strain and helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector will light up; an amber light lets you know that your portable is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC lead is provided with the adaptor for maximum lead length, while the AC wall adaptor (also provided) gives users an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Designed to be the perfect travelling companion, the adaptor has a clever design that allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

This power adaptor recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.

Compatible with MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Pro.

    Power adaptors do not last

    • Written by from Boca Raton

Apple needs to rethink the design of the Magsafe power adaptors. I have bought replacement Magsafe Power adaptors in the past because they don't always last. Sometimes 1-2 years but this recent one only lasted 3 months. At $80 per adaptor this is ridiculous. Read online, many consumers have had the same issues. More

New and Better than the Old MagSafe

    • Written by from markham

I own the white 13" 2008 Macbook, and to answer your questions (if any), yes, it works with it. As for the MagSafe itself, it feels differently built (for the better), it doesn't nearly get as hot as the old MagSafe did (incredibly this one stays very cool, even on extended periods of time, although that could be because it's new.) Lastly, the actual connector is pretty innovative, feels much sturdier and less prone to fire/breaking/separation issues. It also wraps around a better/more effective contour. All in all, for $79 compared to $99, and the benefits i've named, it's a much better buy than the previous MagSafe (still overpriced, apple) More

    Awful

    • Written by from STRATFORD-UPON-AVON

Bought this as my old original T-shape maglock charger for my macbook stopped working.

Have had it a total of maybe, 2-3 weeks and if I want to charge my laptop the cable has to be put into a very specific position.

Also the metal head that connects to your macbook gets very hot and can burn you.

I will be requesting a replacement and would hope that apple would stop using cheap materials and over charging because of their brand.

    Complete Junk!

    • Written by from Racine

Need I say more. Just read the other reviews.

Although mine has lasted over 2 years (I guess that's good for these?)

But I went to unplug my computer today and the connector was so hot it actually burned my finger. These could actually cause fires or potential for serious lawsuits.

I would suggest a recall or better design. I LOVE my mac and iphone but the cords are garbage!

    Worst Charger Ever

    • Written by from Mariaville

Mac chargers are very expensive and break so easily! The wires feeding into the computer clip are ultra prone to getting damaged. I have replaced my cord several times with several models and no matter how careful I am, it's life span is woefully disappointing. For the price, it should be far better. At the very least you should be able to replace only the section prone to damage and not the whole cord! More
