Great!

Just works since the day I took it out of the box. No reboots, no slow service. The device is transparent - exactly what you want from a wireless netwroking device. Delivers great reception throughout the house. I keep this in a enclosed bookshelf, on top of my DVR (not the best location), and it just plugs away. No overheating, no worries. Highly recommended. …More

This is the best wireless router that I have found on the market and have used. I have never had to reset this
, never had any kick offs like with other routers. I have it in my basements, in my office. My wife works upstairs
. She has a mac book pro and I have the 24 IMac, waiting for my new 27 coming today. I have my work PC set up along with a wireless printer and a shared printer as well. …More197 of 216 people found this useful

I Heart Airport Extreme!
Written by JC from Austin

I struggled with Netgear and finally broke down and bought Airport Extreme ... its the best thing I ever did for my wireless network and my sanity!
The "money saved" from previous unreliable "fixes" like ethernet switches that never work properly or unsupported Netgear products do not compensate for the loss of hair (see clenched fist), nor the constant worry that I will not be able to make a deadline because of a hinky wireless connection.
Airport Extreme just plain works! If you are hesitant to spend the extra money, check the refurbs here on the Apple Store - that takes the price difference from Netgear and similar products down to mere tens of dollars ... well worth it!
If you don't like the Airport Extreme you can return it to Apple no questions asked ... but if you buy "the other" you will hate it, kick it, despise it, and it will eventually be reclaimed as a paperweight because no one will buy it from you on Ebay or Amazon since there are 20 million other people trying to unload it too. Friend, all that cheap Netgear crp out there for a reason. :) …More8 of 10 people found this useful

I have been having all kinds of problems with my netgear and linksys routers..in fact,i thought it might be a problem associated with my cable modem because i was experiencing the same drop outs and slowdowns with both routers...i decided to try the airport extreme and so far it has been rock solid and the speed has been outstanding...it has only been a few days but the change is dramatic and i am very impressed with it thus far...perhaps it has something to do with apple routers working better with apple laptops?who knows? …More

Let me get this straight: I can plug my ethernet cable into Airport Extreme and it converts my current internet service to wireless? Or am I way off?
- Asked by CD from Mascotte

Best Answer
Actually you are spot on. That is the whole purpose really of AirPort. As you say, plug in your ethernet cable and the AirPort Extreme Base Station, set it up and it becomes your wireless access point for your home, office or wherever you will be using it. It will allow any computer, Mac or PC to wirelessly connect to the internet provided, of course that you have an ISP (Internet Service Provider) and it also has dual Band Wi-Fi so any Wi-Fi device will also use it to connect like an iPod Touch or iPhone.
You can also plug a USB printer into it so that any computer on your network can print wirelessly as well. You can even plug in a USB hard Drive into the base station for use as a network drive which can also be accessed over the web if you are away. If you own a PS3 or XBOX the base station will also allow you to connect those devices wirelessly to your network. …More- Answered by CB from Schenectady

Does Airport Extreme provide a greater range than Airport Express?
- Asked by PS from Guildford
- Oct 2, 2009
Best Answer
Technically no, but for certain customers, their environments may make it seem so. Wireless interference is one of the main causes for certain customers having a bad experience with the Airport products. Take note of how many other wireless networks are around and what devices are in the same area that utilize similar wireless technology. The Airport devices use same wireless technology and consist of the same hardware. With the Airport Extreme, you get the Dual-band feature and the extra ethernet ports.
Hope this helps. …More- Answered by KR from Folsom
