About the Family Pack

The Family Pack Software License Agreement allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple software on up to a maximum of five (5) Apple-labelled computers at a time as long as those computers are located in the same household and used by persons who occupy that household. By 'household' we mean a person or persons who share the same housing unit such as a home, apartment, mobile home, or condominium, including students who are primary residents of that household but reside at a separate on-campus location. This licence does not extend to business or commercial users.

*GarageBand Artist Lessons are sold separately and are available directly through the GarageBand Lesson Store in select countries.

iPhoto print products are available in the U.S., Canada, Japan, and select countries in Europe and Asia Pacific.

    Snow Leopard is even better than apple says! It freed up more than 12GB, and was so fast! This is not fake advertisement!

    While I subsequently understand that I could have upgraded my outmoded OS X Tiger with a simple £25 upgrade - I took the opportunity to swallow Mac's advice, up my 2006 Intel based Macbook memory from 512MB to 2 GB, and take the plunge with the all new upgrade Box set. If you are not already a Leopard user you will notice a huge difference in the speed and capability of you machine with this new software. iLife 09 boasts an excellent iPhoto package and iMovie 09 (despite some early criticism) is actually more intuitive than 06 + with sexier clip transitions. iTunes also now opens in seconds and I no longer have to trot off to make a cup of tea while it thinks about it!! Numbers as an addition to iWork at last allows you to open Excel attachments on your Mac and create household budget spreadsheets!! (Yawn - but useful) So if you haven't kept up with Mac's latest releases since 2007 - this box set is awesome! (And straightforward to install too...45mins for Snow Leopard to work her magic and no more than 20 mins for the other two!) Go on - your Mac deserves a make over. …More

    My last gen MBP runs so much faster. Finder is much faster and overall all applications launch quicker. After installation, Snow Leopard freed up about 12gb of space!

    ADSL Ethernet Modem Connection Problems and Possible solution

    If you are planning to upgrade to Snow Leopard and you use an ADSL Ethernet Modem, for example the Dlink-320T, you will experience problems with getting a reliable connection, if the modem is running in PPPoA/PPPoE mode. This method of connection presents no problem to 10.4.11 (Tiger)

    Snow Leopard will establish an initial connection to the Internet, which will then subsequently fail.

    To get a reliable connection, you need to know the username and password used to setup your broadband connection.

    The only solution to getting a reliable connection is to create a new location in the System Preferences, Network on your Mac and leave it with DHCP to pickup the IP address of the Modem.

    Then you need to connect to the modem from a web browser 192.168.1.1 and change it over to Bridge Mode by clicking on Home, Wan, Bridge Mode, to save the configuration you also need to click on Tools, System, "Save and Reboot"

    Now in the Network Dialogue of the Mac, you need to click on Using DHCP next to Configure IPv4 and go down to Create PPPoE Service.

    At this point you will be asked to provide a name, so use the name of your ISP.

    Now enter your Account Name and Password and tick "Remember this password". You might also want to click on "Show PPPoE status in menu bar". Now click on Apply.

    You can now click on Connect and if you have provided the correct details for the connection to your ISP, you should connect.

    If you want this connection to be established automatically, then you need to go to Advanced and PPP, "Connect automatically when needed"

    When you move away from your Ethernet Modem, you would be advised to change the network location to Automatic.

    problems started when loaded

    i have been using mac pro G5, system since the G5 came out. never had any problems untill i loaded the new leopard. all started fine, but now 3 months into using leopard, errors are starting to appear. black screens, locking up, started asking for password (never used before), and other odd errors started happening.

    i suggest waiting to load the new OS unless you have current issues that need resolving... dont fix what isnt broke...
