    Great! But one problem...

    • Written by from Los Angeles

I love the fact that my Macbook and iPhone can both take advantage of this feature, and this kit is excellent except for One Thing. Why not label the darn plugs? I write this only in hope that they will improve this in the future. Even a letter code would help. Korea and Europe are so similar that you cannot tell them apart. There are slight thickness differences, but it takes some effort to differentiate them. Why not emboss the countries or a letter code that corresponds to the images on the back of the box? More

Great for iPods, iPhones and Apple laptops

    • Written by from Clearwater

I traveled to the Netherlands recently and bought the World Travel Adapter Kit. Even though it says the thick round adapter is for Korea, it works just fine in Europe, so you can use both the thick and thin adapters--at least in the Netherlands. All the sockets I tried accepted both adapters without problems. This kit is great--but now I need a good excuse to visit all the other countries I have adapters for.

Tip: Also take along a couple of universal plug adapters (available at Radio Shack, etc.). I took my iMac along with me and was able to use the adapter just fine, without having to buy a European iMac cable from the local Apple store.

    Only works with Apple products

    • Written by from Springfield

While the adaptors work great for all countries, because of how the adaptors slide unto the charger, you can't use the adaptors for any other electronics (like a camera charger). So...you have to bring multiple adaptors unless all you have is Apple products. I ended up buying a cheap $3 adaptor at the airport that worked for all electronics. The charger already is dual voltage, all you have to do is get it plugged in. I was looking for a great adaptor set with Apple quality, which it is, but the exclusive design makes the $39 price tag ridiculous. Save your money and buy a cheap prong adaptor at the airport when you get off the plane. More

    Works Great!!!!

    • Written by from Saint germain

I bought this for a recent trip to Austria, Italy, and The Netherlands. I love that I can charge my iPhone4S and MacBookPro using the same adapter. The plugs fit right into my Mac charger. This comes with an extra USB cable also. Its so much easier than carrying around a converter along with the chargers. This way I only need one thing. I can't wait to bring this kit along with on my trip to Ghana in May. The only thing that would be really nice is a small bag to throw the plugs into and if they were all labeled. More

    Perfect!

    • Written by from Philadelphia

I used this adapter in Europe as well as Africa, and it was great. Every adapter worked perfectly, and while I was in Uganda there was nothing else that I needed. If you have a macbook of any sort, you can also use the adapters to put onto the laptop charger, and it works just as well. It was used for my laptop, phone, ipod, and has a usb outlet to plug in anything else, like my camera or a kindle. It really was a great purchase, and I got my money's worth and more out of the use I've already had in this product. More

I am an Electrical Engineer. Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: The only things that is important for using any AC adapters overseas are the following:

    * You need to have the right type of plug. If you do not it will not fit, and if you force it, it could break.

    * The adapter needs to support the right voltage for input. Some of the world uses around 110 volts. The rest uses around 220 volts. Many digital devices have power adapters that support both, which is often written as 100-240V or sometimes 110-240V. As long as it support both you are good. If it does not things get messier, and I won't get into them here.

    * It must support the correct frequency for input. Again some parts of the world use 60 Hz, the rest uses 50 Hz. Just about all AC adapters support both. If the do they will say 50-60Hz.

So looking at the iPad charger:

Does it have the right plug? Probably not, but with this kit you can change the plug, so now it has the right plug.

Does it support both 110V and 220V? Yes it does. It supports from 100V to 240V.

Does it support both 50Hz and 60Hz? Yes.

Therefore: With the kit and your iPad charger it will work pretty much anywhere on earth, and even on the space station!

The last number for input is Amperage. It is related to how much Current or "Juice" it uses. You really don't need to worry about that, as all AC adapters use little enough current that they will work anywhere.

It will charge the iPad (slowly) if it's not in use and the screen is off. The iPhone charger is 5 watts and the iPad requires 10 watts for fast charging. More
